The websites Board Games and Board Game Geeks have copies of the rules. Of course, the game itself comes with the rules, it would be hard to play without them.

There are many different versions of this game, so the names of the characters varies widely. In the traditional Whitman edition that I played as a child, some of the characters were Wacky Witch, Hugo Hunt, Fanny Flint, Grannie Smiles, John Law, Greasy Grimes, Art Smart, Kuku Klown, Salty Junk, Husky Hank, Hiram Hay, Lotta Noise, Tillie Tumble, Gusto Graft, Choosy Chef, Hedda Howell, Tippy Tubbs, Betty Bumps, and Petunia Pill. The lists I've seen also include Biddpy Dabb and Molly Meo, but I honestly don't have a memory of those characters. Either I've forgotten them or there were some variations in the Whitman decks, as well.

One 1920s deck sports Gabby Gob and Girgling Gertie. Another includes Fancy Nancy and Lucky Louie. And those are just a couple of the English characters. This is a game known by many other names in lots of other cultures. In the Tagalog language, for instance, the one left holding the odd/non paired card at the end of the game is "the monkey." And, a regular deck of playing cards can also be used - and the game may have originally been played with these cards instead of picture cards with entertaining names. Just remove one of the queens and the one of the same color remaining in the deck becomes the equivalent of "the old maid."

When dealing cards a person should maintain a speed that allows them to neatly hand out each card properly. This means that no card values are visible, one card is dealt at a time and the pass is made without hesitation.

"Play your cards right" simply means making the right decisions in a given circumstance.

You can put dragonkin in monster decks, however, I can not tell you whether they would actually COUNT as monsters I.E. Using "Monstrous Heal" probably wouldn't count against Neferian, but I'm looking into this myself.

Toss a coin to choose which team will start. A player on this team chooses the starting point by drawing a ciricle of about 20 inches in diameter. This player tosses the little target ball from any obstacle. Any player from this team then throws the first boule, trying to place it as close as possible to the target ball. A player of the second team tries to throw a boule even closer to the target ball. The boule nearest to the target ball leads. When a team has no boules left the other team throws their remaining boules and tries to place them as close as possible to the target ball. Only the leading team scores: as many points as it has boules that are closer to the target. The first team to 13 points wins.
