This entirely depends on the pace at which you are walking, and what condition your body is in. Someone who is very fit, and very trim, will not burn 72 calories as quickly as someone who is not very fit or trim when walking at the same speed.

Lets say you were to walk at 3mph, which is about an average walking pace for many people. Based on your average weight, and walking at a speed of 3 miles an hour, you will burn calories at the following rate:

  • 130 to 140 pounds - 3.5 calories burned per minute
  • 145 to 155 pounds - 4.0 calories burned per minute
  • 160 to 170 pounds - 4.5 calories burned per minute
  • 175 to185 pounds - 5.0 calories burned per minute
  • 190 to 200 pounds - 5.5 calories burned per minute

So if you were to weigh 150lbs, it would take 18 minutes of walking. 18 minutes multiplied by 4 calories a minute equals 72 calories burned. Give or take.

That popping feeling is called Fasciculation. When you work your muscles they contract and the blood vessels dilate. When you are done exercising and your body is returning to a normal state the twitching can occur. It should go away shortly after you finish your workout. This is normal after a good walk or jog..and usually sitting to rest. The feeling results in a "popcorn" feeling at the skins surface.

That's not a sustainable loss rate.

In order to lose 50lbs in only 8 weeks you have to do alot of work. It is possible but you will have to really work at it. First of all you will need to cut out all sugar and most of the fat you consume and salt also no dairy or a very limited amount. You basically need to do this plan. Breakfast: 3 egg white omelette and 6 strawberries (fresh or frozen)(blueberries or rasberries or blackberries will do) snack: 2 to three hours later. 2 oz more protein and 1 cup of green veggies.(salad does not count) Lunch: 3 oz of lean white meat either ground turkey, turkey breast, chicken breast, or fish and 1cup brown rice or small potato with 1tsp of sugar free salsa. and 1cup green veggies. another snack same as first dinner: same as lunch evening snack protein and berries drink at least 64 oz of water excercize. do 30 minutes alternating. 1min jumping jack, 1min skipping, gallup for 1min, jump on mini trampoline for 10 min(this rids your body of cellulite) ride a stationary bike for 45 min. Use 3lb weights to do arm lifts, hold the weights in hands above head with elbow at a 90 degree angle. then lift weight straight over head. do 100 to 200 reps. do plies' : stand with feet shoulder length apart toes pointed out. with hands on hips and back straight slowly bent knees until thighs are parallel to floor. crunches 30 to 60 a day. and leg lifts. lay on your back with arms to your sides and lift your legs at a 90 degree angle and back down do 100 reps. increase cardio by 5 min each week. also take b12, calcium, magnesium, chromium, 5htc, and L-glutomine.(helps with sugar cravings) I swear by this it is hard but if you follow it for 8 weeks you will lose 50lbs and be on your way to the best shape of your life.

Firstly you should know that you have 2 forms of cardio : high intensity cardio and low intensity, if you want to lose weight you will practice high intensity, High intensity cardio is simple to do, you don't need to plan anything in advance, just jump on a treadmill, running track, bicycle etc and perform intervals (2 minutes normal speed, 30 seconds sprinting, return to normal speed, repeat).

Believe me you will lose weight, after I can't tell you exactly how many you will lose because depend of the time you will spend to exercises, but don t forget that without a proper diet even if you practice your cardio you will lose anything !

Almost all Tai Chi practiced nowadays is either the Yang or Wu style (although a few practice the Chen or Hao).

Tai Chi styles are generally done in two ways- long forms and the short forms. Long forms yield more benefits for the student, but require a longer amount of time to be set aside for them and have a much higher degree of difficulty to learn. While some quality is definitely sacrificed, short forms yield a large degree of benefits and are much easier and simpler to learn.

Of all the Tai Chi short forms, the most basic and well known is the Yang 24 move short form. This article does a fairly good job detailing the subject:

If you want to have access to the best resource on the subject and the different forms of Tai Chi, their difficulty, who teaches them and what they can accomplish I would recommend getting the book Tai Chi Health for Life.

Also, if you want to get technical, the basic components of Tai Chi exist within Qigong, and the best form that exists within Qigong (which while simple contains most of the attributes and benefits one would get from practicing Tai Chi) is known as Cloud Hands. It's actually simple enough to be detailed within an instructional booklet (as opposed to a 5000 page tome for a Tai Chi form), with the book on it being called "Opening the Energy Gates of Your Body."

My own opinion is that the best way to learn Tai Chi is to first extensively master the energy components within the form from a simpler qigong form before beginning the Tai Chi one. If you're open to that, The Energy Gates method is the classic one that's been taught for the past few thousand years in China!
