According to scientific research, the wing span of a normal parrot is about 5 to 6 centimetres long.
How do penguins cope in the cold?
Birds fly because flight is an evolutionary adaptation they've developed. Most tend to have powerful muscles around the chest area to give them the strength to displace the air around them. Their wings provide them with a way to move air and to create lift. Their hollow bones also drastically reduce their weight and allow them to get off of the ground.
Many birds form long-term pair bonds that may last a lifetime, or only several years. No species is known to always mate for life; studies show that most monogamous species are more like humans, in that some pairings last only a short time, some for years, and a few for a lifetime.
Birds known to form long-term pair bonds that may last a lifetime include swans, geese, most hawks, eagles and falcons, most parrots, albatrosses, ravens, pigeons and doves, and more. Birds as a class contain more monogamous species than not, though some species switch mates more often than others. Most migratory songbirds find a new mate every year. Relatively few bird species are polygamous (males mate with many females), and just a few are polyandrous (females mate with many males).
Also like humans, though, even pair-bonded birds are known through genetic testing to occasionally "cheat" on their partners!
What different things do birds eat?
Seeds, nuts, fruits. Things like that. Birds do need a lot of vitamin A, so you can give them vegetables. Just be careful about what vegetables you give them. Never give them avocados. Those will kill your bird.
Can you have chickens and budgies in the same cage?
No, it is not safe. Cockatoos can hurt smaller birds very easily. Budgies often have "big bird" attitudes and will bother other species. The cockatoo can hurt or kill the smaller bird when it reacts to the smaller bird annoying it. The cockatoo isn't being mean or bad, it just doesn't understand why it is wrong to react to the smaller bird in an aggressive way. Even if they are bred in captivity and hand-fed/hand-reared, cockatoos are not genetically distinct from their wild ancestors. They will still act like wild animals. You can obedience-train a dog not to bother a cat, but it's not worth the risk to try to train a cockatoo to leave a budgie alone. Keep them in separate cages and never let them play together.
What can you feed baby birds if you cant find worms?

Why is your parakeet shivering?
Your parakeet may be cold or sick. If it is cold, you may have it too close to air conditioning or something that has cold drafts. If you get your parakeet wet enough and don't dry it, it could catch a chill and die. Sometimes they are simply nervous and will sit and puff out their feathers. You should take it to a veterinarian to make sure it is not sick.
Can you have two female budgies?
Yes I myself have more than one budgie they are both male but i suggest that you get male and female or two females because sometimes males would fight over the limited space also make sure to change the food and water daily and make sure they have plenty of space (some budgies like toys) and give them lots of love :)

How do you make a canary nest?
I would first like to extend my deepest condolences regarding the loss of your canary. I have had MANY friends throughout my life that have accidentally left the cage door open. NONE of them EVER came back. Perhaps, yours will be different. I suppose we can hope for the best. The ONLY way to attract your canary is to have fostered a relationship in which it would not want to leave in the first place. For all we know, it has found it's natural home already. Chin up, and good luck.
If your parakeet has a yellow head and green body does it mean it is male?
not exactly, it is just the color
Can birds lay eggs while flying?
Birds cannot lay eggs while flying, because the amount of energy needed to expend to lay and egg would require the bird to stop flying and land. Plus, the bird's internal instincts would make itself land just about anywhere that doesn't hurt them, e.g., backyards, tree branches, etc. Their instincts will override anything they are doing and they would land to lay an egg.
This is often a worry to novice breeders. Once the chick starts to peep or break open the shell it can take as long as 24 hours to complete the job. Chicks to not usually start and complete the task without a rest since it is such a hard job. It is important to keep the humidity levels high in the incubator to keep the chick lubricated during this task of it will dry to the membrane and be unable to move.

A chicken's laying season is all year long, although may slow down in the winter time due to shorter days. If the hen lays enough eggs where she feels there are enough for a 'clutch', her laying will stop as she prepares to incubate and hatch her brood, which generally takes 21 days. After a few more weeks, she will start to lay eggs again.
