Corn nakes have been traced back to 1676 in the South-eastern United States.

Most likely it is either a corn snake or a mix breed with corn snake in there. In many areas the corn snakes and the black snakes (rat snakes, racer snakes . . .) will breed and you will see either a full or partial checkerboard pattern on the belly of the snake.

Pet Corn Snakes, depending on their age, mainly eat mice. Young snakes eat "Pinkies" which are newborn mice. Adults eat adult mice or jumbo mice.These have hair, so it may be disturbing. These can be served live or frozen. Feed about 1-2 times per week. Overall, 'cornies' have a simple carnivorous diet.

Snakes need a heat rock because they are cold-blooded, meaning that the temperature around them affects their temperature. If the temperature in a snakes environment gets to cold, the snake will basically freeze to death.

A simple substrate, such, Aspen, sawdust and reptile bark. You can get these from most pet shops, but if you don't have one near you, you can get some of the Internet. I recommend using aspen personally. hope this helped :)

The Speckled King snake is a black snake with yellow or orange spots speckled over it's body. Another black snake with yellow spots would be Baby Eastern Black King Snake. Both are completely black with yellow speckles.

depends what sort of snake. For example, a big snake could be fed a HUGE rat. Rat;s and mice are the natural food for every single snake. Rabbits are far too big and are a threat to snake's lives, as a rabbit could easily kill a snake. But it takes snakes about 5 days to digest food, so the maximum intervel should be 2 weeks. Remember, do not feed your snake rabbits, birds, especially not live ones.

Generally, it's a good idea to let your snake relax and not to handle him (her) for at least 48 hours after they've eaten. Just a guideline.....but that guideline has worked for me perfectly for years now. If you have to handle them, try to wait at least 24 hours; but of course if it's a safety issue then you need to handle it asap!

Yes, they can, but deer corn is whole kernel corn. It is much harder for the birew to digest in that form. It would be better to feed cracked corn, corn that has gone through at least one stage of a mill. Deer corn is usually fed to deer, cows and other large animals that will chew it to break it up. Chickens, of course, have no teeth, and if a chicken has a choice between whole kernel corn or cracked corn, it instinctively goes for the cracked corn.

yes corn snakes are known to be a lot nicer than other snakes and often used as pets. Just do not move to suddenly around them or you will frighten it and might strike. before picking it up or anything let it get used to you by slowly putting your hand in front of it, if it flicks its tongue towards your hand do not get frightened it just means that it is getting used to your hand. it might even on its own start crawling up your arm thinking its a tree trunk , which is very normal behavior.

Reptiles are usually solitary creatures - however - you can house species together IF they are from the same country and are not likely to view their 'companion' as food !

They were other garter snakes. It is impossible for a garter snake to give birth to a ring neck snake. They are very different snakes. Garters are semi aquatic ovoviviparous colubrids while ring neck snakes are oviparous rear fanged snakes that are venomous to other reptiles along with amphibians. You said you got it in the wild? Let it go. You want a garter snake - go to a reptile shop.
