well first of all is your cat an outside or ever was an outside cat?if there used to going outside they'll look for that same type of ground to go potty on... just be glad hes not going on your favorite curtain or shirt,lol. what i would do is put potting soil in your litter box then slowly put more and more litter in. this way he starts off with the potting soil and graduates.unless he goes in both litter box and potted plant. If your cat has gone to the bathroom in your potted plant remove that plant and replace the dirt so there is no sign of urine. The cat will most likely contiue going to the bathroom where they can still smell it. Also spraying the plant with products like Keep Off or Boundry with keep them away from certain areas. Lastly use Cat Attract Litter in their litter box to help bring them back to where they were suppose to be going in the first place. They also make an attractant you can add to their litter too.

I had Kittens that were killed same way. And it turned out to be Mother cat. If the kittens were either sick or there is a oder she doesnt know. She will eat them as food.

i have a cat i give it milk and water she drinks about 3-4 litres a day of water and about 1 litre of milk but my next doors cat doesnt drink that much id say about 2-3 litres

That will depend on the individual cat, the type of food it eats and your home environment (i.e. if it is very warm in your home). If a cat is on wet food (meat or pate) then they will tend to drink very little as the water content in their food is very high. If they are on dry cat food then some cats may drink more as they need to substitute the water they are missing out on from the dry food. However, many cats will not drink enough water while on dry food. Some cats may drink as little as 50% of their water intake.

Two ways that help cats drink more is to leave a tap on, or purchase a pet water fountain. Many cats are fickle when it comes to water and will only drink fresh moving water. A running tap or fountain keeps water constantly moving and fresh, and both methods are very successful in enticing a cat to drink more water.

I have seen wallabies carry around a dead joey in the pouch until it starts to putrefy, and when finally forced to tip it out, will remain beside it for days until it is unrecognisable. I have seen birds that pair for life standing forlornly by their deceased partner at the side of the road until they starve. There are many accounts of dogs, cats, rabbits and mice refusing to eat or leave the body or grave of a friend who has passed away. Many pets will refuse to accept another owner when their owner dies. I certainly agree with the above poster. Dogs do have souls. Some mother dogs will grieve more than others, but indeed they grieve. One only has to read the book 'Greyfriars Bobby' to know about grieving. Often dogs who lose their masters or mistress' will visit their grave often and lay across it. My mother had a part poodle x terrier dog named Shawnee (off an Indian Reserve) and she got this female from the SPCA. My mother was diabetic and would have the odd 'reaction'. One night I was sitting at home doing some reports and I looked up at my husband all of a sudden and told him I had to go to my mother's home (approx. 9 blocks from where we lived.) I drove down (feeling anxious) and thankfully I had a key to my mothers house. Before I even got to the door I could hear Shawnee furiously scratching at the door and had no doubt if she had gotten out she would have raced up to our house. As soon as I got into the house she raced upstairs and there at the top of the stairs lay my mothers cold, clammy and in bad shape. While I phoned the ambulance Shawnee laid her own body over my mother to keep her warm. Generally an excellent and no nonsense guard dog she made no attempts to attack the ambulance drivers or firemen when they came. Was it telepathy? I think so! I do believe dogs form love relationships with not only a member of the family, but also on occasion with their own kind. Dogs are loyal, loving, protective and that's more than most of us can say for a lot of human beings. Yes. All animals have souls, but they do not have spirits. Only humans are spiritual beings. Hebrews 4:12 teaches us that there is a difference between soul and spirit, but it is only in the Word of God that we find this division between soul and spirit. The soul and spirit are never viewed as separated one from the other. Thus we find it hard to note where the distinction lies. Generally speaking, the soul is that part of our being which has to do with our emotions and feelings, and through the soul we are able to know about ourselves. The spirit is the part of us which enables us to worship and to have communion with God

Leave it alone. Let nature takes it course. Some times nature is cruel - and this is from a cat lover; there is something wrong with the kitten. Unless the siblings aren't letting it in - that's something different. Maybe try nudging it up to the teet...but other than that.....

However, you need to watch that kitten carefully. if that kitten does not get enough milk from their mother than they may not be getting the nutrients they need and the strength they need to survive.

Actually, this is not entirely true. Some mother cats will reject a kitten if they cannot or are not willing to care for it. The best thing to do would be to contact your vetrinarian, then follow his/her directions. You can find simulated milk and special bottles at a feed store if the suggestion is to feed the kitten.

I agree with the second answer, get evaporated kitten milk from the store and a small, bottle, usually in the pet section and feed it your self, make sure you feel the belly so it does not get too tight while feeding, you might have to take care of it completely which means a heating pad set to low-med under a blanket in a box. feed the kitten about every 4 hours, make sure to warm the milk but test it so its not too hot, after feeding take a wet warm paper towel and make the kitten use the restroom this means wiping its rear, usually a mother cat will lick them, when i raise kittens (newborns) i put an face clock so they can hear the ticking which simulates a mothers heart beats. make sure that in the box the kitten can get off the heating pad if they wish.

My can has recently stopped using her litter box to do her poos. I have done a bit of research and can't seem to figure out why? Her litter box is clean and she seems her normal self personality wise. The only thing that comes to mind is the other day, I made the mistake of putting sardine oil on top of her wet food and when I returned from work the next day, there was diarrhoea all through the house. Since that day, she has continued to poo on the tiles and carpet. Unfortunately, it's always when I'm not home so I can't even catch her in the act. What can I do to get her using her tray again?

Take him to the vet to find out what is wrong. If the litter box is kept clean, most adult cats will use it unless the cat is ill.

No. I have a family of ferral cats living in my garden and the father and mother cat look after the 4 kittens who are now a year old better than some human parents. They show affection, scold, and look after them. When the youngest fell off a fence the father went immediately to her aid and had her stretching and purring to make sure she was all right.

The father cat also lets the 4 kittens eat their food first. I hope this answers your concerns.

I'm sorry but to just say no is untrue. Just because that's one persons experience doesn't mean its the same for all cats. It depends on the cats. I have the opposite experience happening right now. 2 adult indoor cats. Female had kittens. Now 8 weeks old. The male has had to be separated in a room from the kittens because of his aggression towards them. There are 2 male and one female kitten. The adult male is aggressive towards the males and they are afraid of him. He tries to mate constantly with the female kitten and bites her and claws at the other two. So my answer is it depends on the cat. Some males are great with kittens and some need to be watched or separated.
