There are so many things to do to prepare for a kitten! First of all: 1. Prepare yourself with supplies. There is nothing worse you can do than be unsupplied! Some supplies you will probably need are: - litter box - kitty litter - various toys --- jingling or crinkling balls, catnip, feathers on a stick, ect. - cat carrier [for easy vet-transportation] - cat toothpaste and shampoo for aiding hygeine [cats clean themselves, but sometimes they just downright need a good ol' bath!] although they scratch you to bits!!

erm.. i would say no. cats will probably metabolise drugs differently to humans and even if the benadryl had the same effects in cats as it does humans - you would have no way of telling what dose would be fine and what dose would be lethal, as cats are a completely different size to us, so the amount you give them would be different anyway. why on earth you would want to give your cat benadryl is beyond me - but i would definitely suggest staying away from giving your cat ANYTHING BUT what your vet tells you is ok to give. You may kill your cat. Lots.

i wish people would not speak when they have no idea what they are talking about. ask your veterinarian. yes, you can give your cat or dog benedryl. a compounding pharmacy will even flavor it like fish, chicken, etc. to make administering it easier.

You shouldn't need to give your cat a bath at all. Cats are very good at keeping themselves clean. However, if you must bathe a cat you should wait at least one week, but preferably two unless a vet tells you otherwise. You need to allow him to completely heal and that includes on the inside where we cannot see. If you bathe him too early, while struggling he may rip open an incision below the skin surface.

This is a tough one. You can get the urine out of the cloth, but usually it seeps down inside the batting and foam. The best thing to do is get a carpet cleaner to come in and have them do some deep cleaning on your furniture. After it's dry use "Febreeze" spray to get any odors out. I own pets and even though my dogs and cat are very clean, I put blankets on my furniture and take them off when company comes. This also is a good preventative measure if one of friends is coming over with her kids and they have their shoes on or have an accident. It's easier to wash the blankets and cheaper!
