Can you burn photo files to a CD-R?
Yes. Any type of file can be put on a CD-R, as long as it takes up less space than the total capacity of the CD (700 MB).
DVD is not obsolete. DVD currently makes up nearly 90% of movie sales, and DVD-R is cheaper per gigabyte than Blu-Ray recordable.

How can I fit six 40-minute HD videos on to one DVD?
Don't make a video disk rather just write those videos as files to the DVD.
If you take 40 min HD video assuming it to be 1280 x 720 then then it should be around 400 Mb but even if these videos have more resolution then they would not exceed 800Mb. So six videos will require 6 x 800 = 4800 Mb = 4.7 GB approx and obviously not all your videos are 800 so they should fit in.But if the size exceed the actual 4.7 GB size of DVD then you can add it to RAR file and then write it.

Wind chimes where not invented by anyone, they came from Asia centuries ago and where hung outside houses to ward of evil spirits, some historians say that the U.S also used them to warn them of extreme weather conditions.
Why does computer shutdown when you put a blank disk into rewriter CD or DVD?
This shouldn't be happening in normal circumstances, as there is nothing to correlate the operations of the PC based upon the CD drive being opened or closed. I've tried to replicate this symptom on my machine at home and am unable to do so.
What happens if you insert a pre-written CD (a music CD for instance) instead? If the "rewriter" were an external part of the PC, there could be some "handshake" issues in the manner of operation, but nothing comes to mind about why the machine would simply shut off just from inserting a disk.
hi if i put any other pre-written CD/ DVD in it plays ok its only when i put a blank disc in CD or DVD , so i can burn a file to disc , it shuts down, if i leave the disc in and try to reboot as soon as the curser comes on, it shuts down, i have to take the disc out to reboot. thank you a w howard.
