I have an answer, kind of. I actually have the same question. I need some good debate material for my 11th grade English class, but am unable to find anything. I also feel sad because you asked your question 10 years ago and it is stale, left unanswered. In my one opinion with brief knowledge of the Enlightenment, the government and church officials probably believed that everything in life could be explained by the bible and that their ancient practices were perfect. I would assume that they felt fear in that people might retaliate, and they would lose power and control of the people. These new ideas about the world probably scared some of the older officials and church elders because new information and practices can sometime be unsettling or even frightening to older and 'wiser' people. And the same is mostly true nowadays, many older people resent change and are very conservative about everything (not just politically speaking either). That's just how it is sometimes. It comes from a group of people called the "Birthers," who believe the president was not born in the United States and his birth certificate is a fake. The claim you cited, that he has a social security number from someone who is deceased (or from someone living in Connecticut, depending on which version you have heard), is one of the most common assertions made by the Birthers, but it is not true.

The information to support this claim comes from a woman named Orly Taitz, who is not a reliable or objective source, since she believes the president is from Kenya and has repeatedly tried, and failed, to prove this. A number of reliable websites, such as snopes.com and factcheck.org have shown over and over that her claims are false, but she and the Birthers persist in believing the president is from another country. He is not. He was born in Hawaii, and while I have not seen his Social Security card, I would imagine he got his first one in whatever city where he had his first job as a kid.

Both are used but not really related, hence I wonder about the comparison, anyway, censorship means deleting parts of the publication (for example, to remove pornography), while classifcation is categorizing publications such as PG-13, R, etc... It might also mean other things.
