Ceremonial Speech

Parents, family, friends of the 2012 graduating class of Highland Hills High School. welcome. And a special welcome to the graduates who have made it and are graduating tonight. I am honored to be your host. Now, without farther adieu, it is my pleasure to introduce an icon here at HHS, your principal, Mr. Gladheart, who will be presenting the diplomas and the first speaker.

A script for the remainder of the ceremony will depend on many factors and would need to be written with those factors in mind. It could consist of introducing speakers and calling out the names of the graduates as they receive their diplomas.

Closing could be something like this:

As we go our separate ways tonight, we wish all the graduates the very best. May you make wise decisions and have great success.

"Class of [year], as we prepare to take the next step in our academic journey, let us reflect on the growth and accomplishments we have achieved during our time at [preparatory school]. Let's cherish this evening together as we witness the incredible performances and achievements of our school community."

2. "A warm welcome to all our esteemed guests, faculty members, proud parents, and my dear friends gathered here tonight. The annual function is a platform where we showcase the diverse talents and skills of our students. Let us come together to applaud their dedication and creativity, and celebrate the spirit of unity and excellence that defines our school."

3. "Greetings to one and all present here, as we gather to celebrate our school's annual function - a culmination of creativity, perseverance, and teamwork. It is a delight to witness our students shine bright on this stage, mesmerizing us with their talent and passion. Let us appreciate their hard work and commitment as we embark on this memorable evening together."

Let us embrace this moment with gratitude for the knowledge gained, the challenges overcome, and the friendships forged along the way. As we embark on new beginnings, may we carry with us the lessons learned and the memories created during our time here."

"Dear teachers and fellow classmates, as we part ways today, I want to express my gratitude for the memories we've shared and the lessons we've learned together. May the friendships we've built and the knowledge we've gained continue to guide us in our future endeavors. Thank you for being a part of my journey here at school, and I wish you all the best in your next chapter."

I think the best farewell speech will be one you think of yourself and actually mean it. It would just be more dramatic and appealing for everyone, and interesting to listen to. Otherwise, you can always find farewell poems on google and use them as parts of your speech.

Opening remarks for a speech contest should include a friendly introduction. Ice breakers and jokes are also good ways to get the audience to listen to the presenter's topic.

A sample of closing remarks for a speech at a graduation ceremony is:

In closing, we have had a wonderful four years full of learning, fun, and good times. We have made many great memories and will look back on them fondly. Now, it is time to move on to another chapter in our lives. Though our routes may be different, our high school years have prepared us. For that, we thank our teachers, the staff, and of course, our principal (name).

Similar remarks could be used to close almost any speech.

This depends totally on whether your teacher wants a farewell speech and who it is for. Most speeches open with a joke and go into a little background on the person. In the case of farewell speeches it conveys that the person will be missed and made a valuable contribution during their time there. It is a good idea to have someone check it for time and grammar.

A vote of thanks does not have to be long. It can be something as simple as:

Before we continue on our journey of life, we want to take this opportunity to thank those who helped us come to this milesone, our graduation. Of course we thank our parents, teachers, and all who were involved in any way in helping us reach our goal, especially (name anyone who did something special, but don't make the list too long). End with something like "You will always be special."

A vote of thanks for a cultural program could also be called a letter of thanks. This letter should be formal, and should include the reasons the person has to be thankful for the program.

A sample speech for introducing a guest speaker at an event should include a short bio about the guest speaker. You may also include interesting tidbits of accomplishments or professional positions that the guest speaker holds or has held in the past.

I can't write your speech for you -- that would be cheating and if you copied it, it would be plagiarism. Here are some tips on how to write a good speech, though:

1. Do your research and find out as much as you can about your topic:

2. Make a list of the most important points that you learned

3. Write down facts to support those points and convince your audience that your

viewpoint is correct

4. Pretend you are just talking to some friends and write down how you would tell

them this information.

5. Practice your speech by saying it out loud until you know it and are

comfortable saying it

It sounds like you already have a title, so you need to find things that you think about when you think about "Gangway for Destiny."

An airhostess typically introduces herself by smiling and greeting passengers as they board the plane. She might say something like, “Hello everyone, my name is [Name], and I’ll be your flight attendant today on this journey to [Destination]. If you need any assistance or have questions, please feel free to ask. We wish you a pleasant flight!”
