I have an 86 and it has the A200R4 trans. If you have an overdrive position on your shifting column then that is what you have, if you only have a 3 speed then you probably have a turbo 350.

Royal knight had logos that were not on the regular Caminos and Feau Leather Seats. The hood logo would look simialr to that of the old firebirds and the fenders would have stacked lettering between the door and wheel well. Basically, It was not much dif but looked a bit better. Also, research the option codes for your year Camino and see if you can find the related option code on the rivited plate inside the door.

Since the coil is in the distributor, simply hook the tach 'trigger' wire to the out put on the side of the distributor cap marked 'tach'.

Any hood from a 1978-83 Chevy Malibu or 1978-87 El Camino or GMC Caballero would work.

For my el camino I started with the upper back side in the corner there is a bolt that is on the side that holds a bracket to the door. Take that off, then there is another long bolt that sticks out of the top near the windsheildloose. Then r, take that out. Then take the bolts out of the inside of the door in the corner wedged between the door and frame. Then there is a bolt on the bottom that is obvious. It is near the back of the fender also. Then start on the front fender. There is a big bolt with a bushing on it. Take that out. Repeat the same steps for the other side of the car. It is the same concept .Then take the front bumper off by the bolts mounted on the back of it. Then there will be another bolt on top of the chasis holding a rod into the chasis for the front bumper. Take that out and then shake the front clip/ fender and it will all come loose. Then remove carefully.

remove the four nuts in the engine bay on the heater box near where the heater core hoses enter. Drain coolant remove the hoses and pull the heater box out from the inside of the car. Remove clips holding heater core, than put your new one in.

remove old engine and install new engine including exhaust and accessory brackets and pulleys. everything should fit. be sure to use a 454 flywheel with 454. smallblock flywheel will work on 396,402,427

there are two screws behind the steering wheel, un screw those, then you need a puller to take off the steering wheel, the cost about $50 to buy and about $15 to rent, then you horn system, is right behind that.
