If you pay directly, make the check out to the person named in the child support order and on the memo line write out the purpose and date for which the payment is being made: "Child support for week ending 10/19/2012". Make sure the carbon copy is clear and keep it in a safe place. If there is no carbon copy then keep a photocopy in your file for every payment you send.
