How do chimpanzee respond to stimuli?
They are first born, then when they are surprised, they jump 3.454565566cm into the air and devour whatever caused the stimulus
Squirrel monkey bites are very rare. But if they do happen to accidently bite you then they will not even really hurt. A male is worse than a female and for males it is only like a paper cut. But they dont even really hurt.
A study done in the 1920s found that Chimps were four times stronger than able-bodied college football players. The 2009 research paper "The Strength of Great Apes and the Speed of Humans" by Prof. Alan Walker writes:
"Bauman (1923, 1926) showed that adult male and female chimpanzees held long in captivity were much stronger than any of several fit young football players when normalized for body mass. He had the animals (when they felt like it) and the students pull on a calibrated metal loop dynamometer. The female recorded a two-handed pull of 1,260 pounds, while the male recorded a one-handed pull of 847 pounds. The strongest student managed a one-handed pull of 210 pounds and a two-handed pull of 491 pounds. When normalized for body mass, this meant that the chimpanzees were more than four times as strong as the men."
Prof. Walker theorizes that the reason Chimps are so much strong is because they have less grey matter in their spinal cord, meaning there are less muscle neurons to activate small muscle groups. On top of that, they do not have the types of biological limiters that humans have because they do not have as many fine motor control muscles to protect. This ultimately means that they can access larger sections of muscle at once.
Gorillas are probably twice as strong as Chimps. I've seen estimates of them being eight to nine times stronger than humans. I couldn't even begin to imagine what it would be like to be that strong.
What is the most primitive hominid?
It was most likely the Gigantopithecus ("giant ape"), an ancient cousin of the modern day orangutan. It is estimated to have stood 10 feet tall and weighed 1200 lbs. This size, however, is only an estimation based on tooth and partial jaw bone fossil evidence. Not even a partial skeleton has been found. This is needed to verify whether the ape was indeed this size. Gigantopithecus was no doubt larger than a gorilla, though. The largest teeth found are over an inch wide. This points to a creature of substantial size and strength.
What are the preys of the chimpanzees?
Chimpanzees are omnivores, meaning they eat both plant and animal material. Their diet primarily consists of plants, nuts, fruit, and insects like ants and termites. Meat is a very small part of their diet. It is composed of small monkeys and forest deer. This prey is caught via coordinated efforts. For instance, chimps will scare or herd monkeys into the hands of chimps waiting in trees in the surounding area. There is one community in Senegal that actually uses spears. They sharpen the ends of sticks with their teeth and then ram them inside of tree hollows in an attempt to spear a small primate known as a "Bush Baby."
Why were chimps used to test rockets?
Because their bodies are like humans. They have similar structures to us, so if they can survive, so can we.
Why is the common chimpanzee endangered?
1) They're hunted for human consumption and sold as a type of "bush meat."
2) Logging and mining are reducing their habitat, and the logging roads are making it easier for people to hunt them.
Chimpanzees are endangered because of habitat loss and fragmentation( cutting off habitats from each other), and also the bushmeat trade.
The bushmeat trade is the hunting of wild animals for meat. It has become increasingly commercialised, it has its roots all over the world. This is because access to the jungle has become easier because logging and mining companies are creating roads that the hunters use.
The infants are captured after their mothers are shot to be sold to labs, circuses, or zoos, or as pets. Sometimes the infant is simply an added bonus to the mothers meat. Sometimes they are specifically targeted, and their mothers killed to take them, along with any of their family who try to save them.
The biggest way to help chimps is to not eat bushmeat, or recycle cell phones to help reduce mining, buy paper with the FSC label, do not buy pet chimps, do not watch movies with chimps in them, and spread the word about the plight of the chimps.
Also, the sanctuaries that care for the orphaned babies are always starved of funding and can always use a donation. A good organization to donate to is the Jane Goodall Institute.
What are the things on a chimp's butt?
Your question is rather vague. I feel you might be referring to the large pink swelling located on their bottom. If so, that is actually a genital swelling on a female. This lets males of the species know that they are receptive to mating and becoming pregnant.

What would happen if t he pond dried up in a habitat?
Well, for starters, the dead vegetation would be broken down by microbes into smaller particles which would float to the surface of the pond. This would allow all of the vegetarian organisms to rise near the surface for easy feeding, because all of the plant matter would be concentrated in one place. This would also benefit the carnivorous organisms who could eat the herbivorous organisms that flock to the surface. Unfortunately, this could be deadly for any man or woman who sets foot in the pond, as the carnivorous animals would become agitated by the the swimmers/waders and likely attack and devour them. This is why many people dump toxic chemicals in lakes - it is a safe way to kill everything in the pond, including the fish, so that when the plants die, people will not be eaten alive by them.
Knowledge is to know what one knows and what one does not know?
I'll take a stab at it: This seems to mean that it is a high order of knowledge to have a sense of the limits of one's knowledge. Being 'smart' and 'informed' or 'savvy' is great, but being aware of one's areas of ignorance, limits of skill and areas of doubt is a very important kind of knowledge indeed. People can be glib and persuasive, skilfully using rhetoric and half-backed information to get others to believe them. The wiser, scarier and much more costly approach is to be willing to shed light on ignorance, even if it is our own. No one finds this easy; few develop it as a strength.
Is a monkey smarter than a dolphin?
Chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans are considered the smartest animals. Scientists
haven't found a list yet, that puts one of these ahead of the others. They're all smarter than dolphins, but dolphins shouldn't be underestimated, as they too are very intelligent creatures. Scientists are still finding the extent of their intelligence.
New Research:
According to the Jonathan Leake article on TimesOnline on January 3, 2010, dolphins are now known to be second only to humans in intelligence. Scientists say they should be considered "non-human persons". Please read the article for more details.
How many chimpanzees are there?
Answer
100,000-200,000 in the wild and 250 in zoos around the world. I am unsure of the numbers for those in biomedical research labs.
Answer
There's a possibility of chimpanzees left but, they do reproduce, maybe 20,000 or less
Can you have a chimpanzee for a pet in the state of North Carolina?
Apply for a permit to own a monkey if you live in Delaware, Idaho, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon or South Dakota. All of these states require that you apply for a permit before you purchase a monkey.
Pay a fee to own a pet monkey legally in Nevada. Typically, no permit is required, but remember to check with county and city requirements.
Check with the Department of Wildlife in certain states before purchasing a monkey. Alaska, Arizona, Indiana, Mississippi and Tennessee ban some monkey breeds, but allow ownership of others.
Apply for an importation permit to bring monkeys as pets into New Mexico.
Read that 19 states currently have absolute bans on ownership, sales and importation of pet monkeys. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont and Wyoming all ban private monkey ownership.
Read California's Wild Animal code to find that owning, importing and possessing monkeys is illegal in the entire state. Exceptions are only granted to zoos, museums and universities after a hearing and issuance of a permit.
Get bonded to own a monkey in Hawaii. Bonding requires a background check and a credit check to ensure that you could pay any fines levied against you.
Feel free to purchase or sell monkeys as pets in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin. These states currently have no restrictions on monkeys as pets.

There are three possibilities actually: a) I am sorry to keep you waiting
b) I am sorry to have kept you waiting
c) I am sorry for keeping you waiting
It depends on the time. If the act of waiting has not been done, the choice (a) is suitable. If the act of waiting has been completed, the choice (b) is appropriate. Choice (c) is applicable for both situations. It is safer to use choice (c) if you are confused.
Is it OK for a dog to eat birch tree bark?
I don't know but it would sound strange if a dog eat wood i would thing it could scratch their throat.
Primates are an order of mammal that does not have any particular characterising defining features; however, their evolution does have characteristic trends including:
forward-facing, more stereoscopic vision
graspers with a lack of claws (exception grade 1 primates and the Callitrichids (new world monkeys that re-evolved them on all digits but the big toe) and development of nails
opposable thumbs
reduced snouts
tactile pads on hands and feet
They have a generalised dental pattern
there is an increased emphasis on vision as opposed to olfactory sences
there is a tedency toward larger brains to body size
there is a tedency toward colour vision
longer gestation
singleton births (typically)
flexible learning behaviour
A primate is the closest living animalistic relative to humans, sharing about 96% of their DNA.
Characteristics of an institution?
1.to satisfy basic and specific needs of individuals; 2.have a body of rules which define relations among members and with other institutions; 3.have an established which is hierarchical; 4.develop rituals and practises.
Do chimpanzees live in the wild?
Particularly shorter time periods in the wild, due to loss of habitat, poaching for bushmeat and sale as pets. Additional Information: The average age for a Chimpanzee, or maybe better known a "Chimp", in the wild is around 40 years old, most don't live past that age. While the average age in captivity is 60 years old, or slightly older. There are rumors of older Chimps, but they are questioned. For more details, please see sites listed below.
