Is it true that the ink used during the production of comic books contain lead If so should this be a concern for an avid comic book reader such as myself?

User Avatar
Most printing companies in the U S stopped using lead based paint in the early 1980's. However, caution is still advised, since not all printers follow the correct procedures. You can protect yourself by using gloves, or wrapping the comic book covers in plastic as you read them, and wash your hands frequently. You should be handwashing frequently anyway, as that helps protect against many transmittable diseases. As long as you do not put the books or your hands into your mouth, you are probably not in any danger. If you have books that are so old they are shredding and turning to dust, you want to avoid breathing the dust. So, wash your hands between each comic book you read, and before and after. For regular safety and hygiene wash hands several times a day. Ensuring balanced nutrition may prevent or reduce lead poisoning. People who get enough vitamin C, iron, zinc, calcium, and phosphorus are less likely to absorb lead than are people who have inadequate diets. Frequent meals or snacks help prevent lead poisoning, because lead is not as easily absorbed on a full stomach. People who eat high-fat diets absorb more lead, as do people with iron deficiency.

Who is Moon Knight?

User Avatar
Moon Knight is a Marvel comic book character and the protagonist of the upcoming Disney+ television series of the same name. He was created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin for the comic book Werewolf by Night #32 in August 1975. He has been compared to D.C. Comics character Batman, as both of the heroes rely on their mastery of martial arts and extensive tactical knowledge rather than superpowers (Moench also worked on a number of Batman comics, so the similarities aren’t entirely accidental). Both regularly upgrade their equipment, using advanced technology to take down their foes. Unlike Batman, Moon Knight has occasionally shown superhuman abilities, including abnormal strength during full moons. His superpowers are vaguely defined, but they’re typically tied to his interactions with the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. In Marvel lore, Moon Knight’s real name is Marc Spector. He’s a former boxer, Marine, and CIA operative who decides to fight crime after being left for dead in Egypt by a terrorist organization. He is notable for his psychological instability, which manifests as “bouts of depression and multiple identity disorder,” per Marvel. The character initially created his other identities to investigate crimes, but he sometimes becomes absorbed by those alternate personalities. In the comics, Spector might explore the streets of New York City as cab driver Jake Lockley or infiltrate high society as millionaire Steven Grant. He’s very unpredictable, which acts as both an advantage and a disadvantage when battling enemies. In August 2019, Marvel announced a live-action Moon Knight series, which will premiere on the Disney+ streaming service sometime in 2021 or later. It’s part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4, but Disney hasn’t released cast or plot information as of September 2019. Still, for Marvel fans, the news is exciting. While Moon Knight isn’t a household name like Spider-Man or the X-Men, he’s a fan favorite, and the new series will undoubtedly add another strong character to Marvel’s growing catalog.

That was probably his toilet made from pure gold, on which the King died! That must have been the most wanted Elvis memorabilia of all, and thus the most expensive. The Frisian

What is the value of a Crosman Mark 1 Ruger style pellgun which is in it's original box with the original manual and in excellent condition?

User Avatar
The Blue Book of Air Guns lists the Mark 1 Ruger in excellent condition with box in the range of $110 to $137.50 if it has adjustable power and 10% less if it does not have adjustable power. It is hard to know the integrity of the seals on a gun this old without testing it. I would suggest testing it to get the full value.

I have a sealed box of Marvel Masterpiece comic cards from 1992 how much are they worth?

User Avatar
This sealed box is incredibly rare. The most I could find on it were from different years (i.e. 1995). Those were being listed at $300.00 on ebay, with many people watching them. A friend on mine who owns a comic store says they should be worth "hundreds of dollars. It's so rare, you just don't see it. I would buy it just to watch the value climb."

Asked in Comics, Comic Book Memorabilia, Mickey Mouse

How much is a Mickey Mouse comic worth?

User Avatar
It is based on which type you buy. For example: the quality of the book, how thick or how small is the book, or even the place you buy. Some place might increase the price or some place didn't change the price. The older one might be cheaper because it is old and the book store wanted to get rid of it. Good luck! I hope my answer can help :) Berrie3800

What font is used in comic books?

User Avatar
Before the advent of computers, many comic books were hand lettered. These days, comic book letterers use a variety of different computer fonts, depending on the publisher, who's speaking, the tone of the dialog, and the personal preference of the letterer. Some comic books continue to be hand-lettered. The most common "comic book" font seen on PCs is called COMIC SANS. A good resource for this question would be Comic Book Fonts. See link below.
