But when Batman was released on DVD it still carried the 15 rating (probibly the BBFC didn't agree with the 12 rating or they didn't re-submit the film.) If you take films such as the dark knight which is slightly more darker and violent still carried a 12 rating so the BBFC still most likely didn't re-classify the film. So IMO I would ignore the 15 certificate and just keep it as a 12.
