Did Johann Strauss have children?

No identity if he had children, but I think he didn't.

Strauss married a singer named Henrietta Treffz in 1862, and they remained a couple until her death in 1878. Six weeks after her death, Strauss married an actress named Angelika Dittrich. Dittrich didn't supporter his music much, and their differences in status and opinion etc., and especially her indiscretion, which led him to seek a divorce.

Strauss was not granted a divorce by the Roman Catholic Church, and changed religion and nationality, and became a citizen of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (in January 1887). Strauss sought solace in his third wife Adele Deutsch, whom he married in August 1882. She encouraged his creative work and talent to flow once more in his later years, resulting in many famous compositions.

I tried to search this very interesting, hidden question. This information (I wrote in my own words) will give you a clue who he married. I think he was over-aged (maybe) to have a child.

Who was the most influential composer of the Classical period?

Let's see...Beethoven was born during the Classical period, and died during the period he largely created (the Romantic era). It's not him. Early Classical era masters CPE Bach and Gluck were born during the Baroque period and died during the Classical period. It's not them either. Mozart was born during the Classical era in which he died, which is not really living through the whole Classical era.

Haydn, on the other hand, was born in 1732, when the beginnings of the Classical era emerged, though contemporary classical music was still largely Baroque. Haydn lived a long life and died in 1809, during a time when the late Classical period and the early Romantic period (represented at that time by composers such as Beethoven, Paganini, and Weber) overlapped.

So I guess Joseph Haydn is the closest answer out there.

Who was Richard Wagner?

A classical music composer, known for many great operas (which he called "music dramas").

According to the great English poet W.H. Auden, Wagner was "perhaps the greatest genius who ever lived".

He revolutionised opera, making each act a continuous whole. Hitherto acts had been composed of self-contained scenes or numbers strung together.

He also revolutionised music, pushing harmony to the bounds of what was possible according to conventional treatment, so that according to some accounts Schoenberg's so-called "atonality" (a term Schoenberg himself hated) had to follow. The prelude to Tristan, and especially its famous first chord, is seen as a crucial step along this road, and continues to generate discussion (and elude analysis) today.

He vastly expanded the orchestra, inventing an instrument (the two sizes of Wagner tuba, intended to have the sombreness of the trombone but with a less incisive tone, like the French horn) for the Ring cycle, which exponentially increased the possible number of instrumental combinations. He used these so sensitively and brilliantly that, according to many, he is the greatest orchestrator who ever lived. (He himself awarded that accolade to Mozart.) By writing virtuosic music for all the orchestral instruments, he forced the orchestra as a whole to become virtuosic.

His last four works, the Ring cycle, Tristan und Isolde, Die Meistersinger von Nuernberg (the longest opera in the whole operatic repertoire) and Parsifal, continue to yield profound philosophical, psychological and metaphysical insights. Unlike most other composers, his works resonate far outside their ostensibly musical sphere.

The Ring cycle of four operas (or, as he preferred, three operas with a preliminary evening) is Western music's equivalent of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling, St Peter's Basilica in Rome or Tolstoy's War and Peace: it's a gigantic conception that took two-and-a-half decades to fulfil, and which remains among the mightiest, most aspirational, most comprehensive works of Western art.

How did Ludwig Van Beethoven start his career on composing?

Was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart blind?

I think he was loosing his sight towards the end of his life, but I haven't read that he was blind.

---------------------------------------------------------

There are different types of blindness. It's been suggested that Rembrandt might have suffered a particular type called stereo blindness, which would mean he had difficulty with depth perception and couldn't see three dimensions as well as normal people. This would probably have helped him as an artist, though, since painting often means reducing what we see in the 3-D world to a 2-D canvas.

Why were male composers more famous than female composers?

This question is very subjective, and so many of the reasons that male artists are considered more famous can be traced to personal opinions of fame. There are some essays in the related links section which can help you explore your take on whether or not gender plays into artist popularity.

Some reasons that male artists are more famous than female:

  • There are more male artists. Before art schools began, young children would learn by becoming an apprentice. Apprenticeship meant living with and learning from an artist with an established reputation. It was not socially acceptable for women to leave their homes adn live with a male artist, so most western female artists prior to the 1800s learned from their fathers. Otherwise they weren't given the opportunity to learn the skill.

Who was the most influential composer of the romantic era?

Frederic Chopin may be the number one answer. He may be the author of "The Romantic Movement", or the most. He may be more the one hundred per cent inventor, innovator, starter, and/or pioneer. It is also reason he to get an inclusion of one of the greatest composers ever on the planet Earth. He is a composer during the romantic era which may be more one hundred percent from his creations and ways. His includes, distinctions, amalgamations and upgrades. It is like nothing before him. He may be unique because of it.

If question if it is him, additional great classical music Romantic "stars" include, by surnames, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Liszt, Verdi, Puccini, Bruch, Lalo, Saint-Saens, Dvorak, Grieg, Rimsky-Korsakov,Mussorgsky, and more. One agrees there's romance before Chopin and today and later.

Why was Richard Wagner important in music?

Wagner was an advocate of Gesamtkunstwerk (Music of the Future - a movement supporting the fusion of music and drama) achieved through the perfect union of text, music and stagecraft.

He brought us into a new style, as Robert Shumann wrote in his Neue Zeitschrift für Musik (New Journal for Music), "[he] was destined to give ideal expression to the times."

As well, Wagner wrote his own operatic librettos, before composing the music. He paid careful attention to language, aiming to integrate text and music, creating what he called "poetic speech."
