What is the difference between Dvd-rom and CD-writer?
There is a type of DVD called DVD-RAM. It is rewritable, and supports up to 100,000 rewrites, as opposed to 1,000, for the +rw, and -rw standard. It also has greater error correction ability. DVD-RAM can act like a slow hard drive, in that you can write files directly to the disk, as well as delete individual files.
I myself have not seen many DVD drives that support DVD-ram, most likely because the media is expensive, not widley avalible, and exceeds the need of the average user.
FireWire (technically known as an IEEE 1394 interface), introduced by Apple in 1995, allows a fast connection for peripherals such as video cameras. It is similar to a USB connector. The original version is now known as FireWire 400. FireWire 800 was introduced to give faster transfer speeds and supporting longer cable lengths without loss of signal. The connectors for the 400 and 800 versions are not interchangeable but converters are available which will allow FireWire 400 equipment to be connected to the FireWire 800 port at the slower connection speed.
How do you connect your netbook to the internet?
Yes. Go in to your 'start' menu by clicking 'start,' bottom left; click 'connect to,' and choose how you want to connect--wirelessly, or with a cord for better throughput. For wireless, you can alternately go to the icons at the bottom right of your desktop and click or Rclick on the wireless icon there for options like 'connect' and others, which will then ask you to choose a wireless signal from a list.
In the worst case, your wireless program is not turned on, and you should have an option for this in Rclick.

Information in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) includes things such as power settings, installed memory, hardware details, clock settings, Access to various functions such as "wake on LAN". The initial function of the BIOS is to identify, test, and initialize system devices such as the video display card, hard disk, floppy disk and other hardware. This is to prepare the machine into a known state, so that software stored on compatible media can be loaded, executed, and given control of the PC

Do you get a faster internet connection with a Cat-5 cable or USB?
You do get a slightly faster connection with Ethernet over USB. This can range from 1% to 5%. The main advantage is not necessarily speed but stability. Ethernet is a much more stable connection. I highly recommend connecting via Ethernet. If your computer does not have an ethernet connection, you can purchase a card for around $20 and install it.
It doesn't matter when dealing with a residential broadband connection. USB is around 11mbps and your internet is anywhere up to 3mbps. Its all a matter of what hardware you have to utilize.
I prefer cat-5.
Is a keyboard a input or a output devise?
Neither. A computer contains both input and output devices. Many modern input and output devices contain embedded computers, that interface between the main computer and the actual input or output hardware of the device.

PLAYSTATION 3 Hard Drive upgrades
Must be a SATA 2.5" 9.5mm laptop hard drive that runs at 5400rpm to prevent heat problems (SSD hard drive also work but will NOT speed up load times) and transfers data at 1.5gbs as anything faster won't go any faster.
Various brands come pre-installed in the PS3: Seagate, Fujitsu, Hitachi, and Toshiba. You can also use Western Digital and Samsung these are OK.
Hard drive capacity? As long as matches the criteria above the PS3 will then format the hard drive to FAT32, which has a limit of 2TB.
Check List for buying a new hard drive
2.5" 9.5mm form factor
SATA
5400rpm
1.5gbs transfer speed
No larger than 2TB
Choose a well known brand
Directions on how to replace the hard drive in the PS3 can be found online on the PS3 website or in your PS3 manual
Also check out the upgrade guide on CNET Australia which is the best I have seen. http://www.cnet.com.au/videos/play/22505124/
You can also use desktop 3.5" SATA hard drives but it will not fit inside the PS3, so you will need extension cables for SATA data and SATA power, you will also need tweezers due to the confined space, they also make an adapter that you install in place of the hard drive and cover that moves the SATA port to the surface of the PS3's case, though it is not made by Sony

A monitor is first and foremost an Output Device because it displays information already held in the computer. Touchscreen monitors that allow you to input information or to use navigational features such as menus, icons and so on are also Input Devices. Another example of a device that is both an input and output device is a joystick with Force Feedback technology.
