Apple makes a range of keyboards most of which will not have a number lock key. Some laptop keyboards will use the F6 key as a number lock and other keyboards can use the Clear key (above the 7 on the number pad) in combination with the Alt or Shift keys to replicate a number lock function.

On mine there is a button over the top of escape with a picture of what looks like a fingernail clipping on it. I just tried it out, it turns of the computer onto stand by. it stops the computer dead in its tracks but when it starts up again it starts of where you left of.

The corresponding key in every finger on a computer keyboard is Q-W-E-R-T-Y. If a keyboard does not have these letters next to each other, no one would be able to type properly without making errors.
