The amount of memory (RAM) Google SketchUp or any other design tool out there is using, is relative to the complexity of the model you are working on. Ideally, the more the better, but that is also Operating system (OS) limited:

- Sketchup is a 32bit application.

- Windows 32bit cannot address (use) more than 3GB or RAM (3.2GB, but w/e). Having more than 3GB (or 4GB, still you cannot use all of it) in a 32bit Windows Machine is pointless. Macs work a bit differently, so even 32bit OS can address more than that.

- Individual Applications are not allowed by 32bit Windows to use address more than 2GB of RAM.

- Windows 64bit, by default, run 32bit Applications (like Sketchup) with the same 2GB limitation, only that can be "patched", so each can use up to 4GB (64bit apps do not have such limiations, but SU is not one of them yet).

Yes, that is good. most new personal computers nowadays have about 5 GB ram. Anything above 6 GB of RAM Is really good the more RAM the better and faster you computer will do stuff.

The RAM requirement stands for total RAM installed on the computer. They do this because they asume you will have no other programs or apps other than your OS running. You should only be running games and nothing else behind it for best performance

It doesn't have 6.0GHz power, it is very rare that a dual core computer with a certain GHz is twice the power as a single core of the same GHz, you must also consider other factors such as RAM, video card, hard drive, etc. also the program that you run must be able to take advantage of 2 cores

Typically SRAM is faster than DRAM.

Because Static RAM requires anywhere from 4 to 6 transistors and some wiring.The memory never has to be refreshed.

It's therefore faster than dynamic RAM.

Because it has more parts, though it takes up more space on a memory chip, which gives the chip less memory and makes it more expensive.

I have had the best luck with finger print scanners. The voice, facial i have had BAD luck and so have some of my friends because they just arnt good unless you are spending A lot of money.

The easiest way to upgrade your ram will be to find out what motherboard your system has and have that information with you when you go to buy the ram. Give the info to the salesperson and ask what kind and how much ram you will need. You could also remove one simm from your ram slot and take it with you to the store or write down the type and speed and have that with you. I suggest bringing the ramm with you, that way if they cant look up your motherboard stats or you cant find the stats you can at least upgrade the amount of ram if not the type. otherwise You will need to check your motherboard specs to see what type of ram you will need, and how much you can use in it. It will also tell you what slots to put the ram into, for instance some motherboards use sdram and only work as dual memory if its inserted into specific slots. Otherwise it works as standard ram and wont share between them. Also if you are using xp only 3 gigs of ram will be recognized even if you put in 4 gigs. Vista will see it all.

At this point you should calmly explain that they might not always be right when they think they are. Sooner or later they will have to agree. By disagreeing with them, that's just what they want and live off drama and the mere fact of being right. Don't go there. Smile, nod, and then I suggest you stay away from a person like this. Hi there, the maximum CPU varies, according to if its a P4, or celeron CPU..

Intel Pentium 4 that runs at 2.266, 2.4, 2.53, 2.66, 2.8, or 3.06 GHz.

Intel Celeron that runs at 2.0, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, or 2.7 GHz .

The maximum ram is 1gb, in 2 x 512Mb sticks. Of either PC 2100, or 2700 non ECC

Actually, the maximum RAM is 2GB, not 1GB. It can take pc2700 or pc3200 184 DIMM memory, up to 1GB in each slot. Not sure about the PC2100; (I use pc2700 in mine.) Hope this helps!

My sincere apologies, but Apoette, is correct. One of the sites I looked at, stated the max mem of 1gb. After checking crucial's website, Apoette's findings are correct.

Do you mean the difference between RAM and ROM? If that is what you meant then ROM is what is used to read discs that are put into the computer, but RAM is used to temporarily hold memory from desktop and web based applications.

Download "Advanced System Care" from www.iobit.com. This free software has the solution. Very cool program.
