Calculated size of floppy disk to hold the data is 1.47 MB while the actual size of it is 1.44 MB the difference is of 0.03 MB for what purpose do you use 0.03 MB?

Floppy disks often have two capacity specifications; they are often quoted with both their unformatted capacity, and their formatted capacity. Since the disk is useless unless it is formatted the unformatted capacity means basically nothing. The formatted capacity is the true maximum capacity of the disk. Usually, the formatted capacity is about three-quarters the unformatted capacity. Even the formatted capacity, however, doesn't show the true amount of space available for user files, because a certain amount of overhead is taken up for FAT file structures. This is true of hard disks as well, of course, although as a percentage more of the floppy is taken up by this information than a hard disk is. The amount of space remaining after these structures are placed on the disk is the true usable capacity of the floppy. Note also that the "decimal vs. binary" measurements problem is in play again with the terminology used to specify floppy capacity. In fact, the terms are not even consistent in and of themselves. For example, a 1.44 MB floppy disk takes its name from the fact that the disk has 2,880 sectors, and each sector is 0.5 KB; 0.5 times 2,880 is 1,440, so the 1.44 is a decimal measure. But, each sector is really 512 bytes, so the 0.5 KB is a binary measure. As a result the "1.44" is a mixed measurement; the true raw formatted capacity is either 1.41 MB (binary) or 1.47 MB (decimal), and not 1.44 MB at all!

Can you add laptop ram to desktop motherboard?

It is certainly not possible because laptop RAM has a different notch pattern and number of pins. Also, be sure not to mix different types of RAM such as DDR, DDR2, DDR3, RDRAM, etc. together.

Actually, it IS possible, but you need an adapter... google 'notebook to desktop memory adapter'

Would it be OK to download a 700mb game on a 4GB Ram laptop and will it slow down my laptop?

well it depends on your hard drive. ram doesnt save anyting at all. everything on your com is on your hard drive.

Ram is used to save short things like firefox takes a few hundred mb of ram to run but as soon as you close it the ram comes back instanty. somethings wont go off though like your touch pad for a laptop and such.

And 4gb is more than i believe youll ever use if you need to ask this. you could run the average game like 10 times before you use 8 gb of ram so just don't open this game 30 times since its clearly bad graphics and it should be good

What is random only memory?

There is no such thing as "random only memory"

The two main types are:

RAM: random access memory

ROM: read only memory

ROM is memory that does not change, it is "read only" the system reads it, uses it and never changes what is stored within it

RAM allows random access types, reading, writing, moving. Its fully adaptable to whatever it is asked to do from moment to moment.

What happens when ram is full?

When a computers RAM is fully utilized, The hard drive acts as the RAM. This is much slower. because unlike RAM which are memory chips, the hard drive uses a disk or platter, that must spin up to access data.
