Laser

To assemble:

1) Hold the correction cartridge in your left hand and the ribbon cartridge in your right hand such that the mostly flat slick sides (bottom) of the cartridges are facing each other and the arms or pointed ends are facing up.

2) Look for the mounting tabs on the correction cartridge.

The mounting tabs will be near the pointed ends and on the bottom side of the cartridge.

3) Hold both cartridges so that you can put them together with the bottom sides facing one another.

4) Take the ribbon cartridges pointed ends and slide the two cartridges together by beginning with the pointed ends of the ribbon cartridge sliding across the bottom of the correction cartridge until the pointed ends of the ribbon cartridge slide into the slots on the correction cartridge and both pointed ends align with each other.

5) Press both cartridges together until you hear a light snap sound.

6) Wind the ribbon using the blue or orange gear (clockwise) on the right rear side of the ribbon cartridge until the ribbon appears all black between the arms.

7) Then wind the correction tape on the cartridges with the similar gear on its cartridge clockwise until the clear correction tape appears.

8) Place into typewriter and you are ready to type.

To Remove one from the other:

Notice that there is a small latch that will release the two cartridges from one another that is on the ribbon cartridge. It is located in between the two pointed arms on the main body of the ribbon cartridge. Press it and slightly pull the cartridges apart and slide the correction cartridge off.

Best Practices for Safe Operation

Before using a laser cutter, be sure you have been trained by a qualified individual. A written procedure covering laser cutter use is recommended.

Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions when operating a laser cutter.

Keep a logbook detailing who has used the laser cutter, cutting time, and materials cut.

A fire extinguisher should be mounted on the wall near the laser cutter.

Regular vacuuming of the cutting deck and the internal cavity of the laser cutter is very important for preventing fires!

Some materials such as PVC produce hydrogen chloride gas which is extremely dangerous.  If you are unsure if your material is safe to cut, contact the KASU LASER Office.

Never leave an operating laser cutter unattended.

Avoid placing laser cutters on wooden surfaces.

Know how setting the pulse rate of the laser affects the chance of a fire and the resolution of the cut.

Never defeat laser interlocks built into the cutter. This could allow the beam to escape from the laser cutter.

Printer driver

No. The cartridges for the Dell printer are much larger than the Lexmark printer. The Lexmark equivalent for those Dell cartridges would be the Lexmark 82 and 83 but I am unsure if the electronics for those two are compatible.

The Lexmark x75 cartridges are fully compatible with the Dell equivalent, the T0529 and T0530. The only differences in these are which lid gets slapped onto the cartridges. The shape on top will be slightly different making it so that they won't fit in correctly but this can easily be gotten around by simply snapping off the small plastic tab in the printer. Be very certain that you are breaking the correct piece off if you attempt to change the printer as you can break the cartridge holder if you snap off the wrong piece. If you look at the cartridge you will see a raised part on the lid with either a corner missing or a section in the center that is flat, this is where the piece that would prevent a Lexmark cart fitting into a Dell printer would be located. This small plastic piece can be removed with no effect on how the cartridge fits in the printer for printing.

The vast majority of printers are compatible with Windows 7, if there is a problem with your printer installs the driver for that printer , if you have other installed and still have compatibility problems only get in the manufacturer's website and see if a driver most current download and install it , in order to maintain compatibility with the operating system and can recognize without any problems
