This appears to be static discharge from a leaky capacitor connected to the audio amp in the speaker. You have two solutions. 1. Send in the unit for repair. 2. Disconnect the speaker wire (Red and Black) that is attached to the speaker located on the inside. Lift the case as if you are replacing the cartridges. Remove the paper and the printing tray. If you look on the left hand side you will see grills for a small 1" speaker. They look like slits. Reach your hand on the inside and next to the speaker there will be a red and black wire attached to it. Disconnect the wires, Disconnecting the wires will disable the audio system, but you'll get peace and quiet.

Sharing printers between Macs and Windows PCs is quite doable and should not present any major problems. Apple support has information about possible problems. (See links below)

A Laser printer uses a drum and toner. A laser negatively charges the drum (a big rotating tube) at certain points, making a mirror copy of the item to be printed. The drum rotates past a toner cartridge, in which are positively charged particles of toner. The positively charged toner is attracted to the negatively charged parts of the drum, and leaves the neutral space in between blank. The drum then presses onto a sheet of paper, transferring the image. A quick heat of the paper seals in the toner (That's why the paper is always warm when it comes out of the printer), and there you go, an image!

if they are both modern macs then they will have bluetooth where you can transfer pretty much anything. You can also use a memory stick or portable hard-drive.

It is always better to put things down in writing than to refer to a memory.

When you replace a cartridge don't use the epson wizard but follow the instructions on the printed manual that came with your epson Stylus SX105, only when you are at point 7 don't close the lid but perform point 8 first! When the printer is done loading ink and the print-head has moved to its waiting position you can close the lid.

YOu can use dot-matrix printer for carbone paper or a lazer printer with special label to cover the PIN such as PHS system from Otto Kunnecke

Yes you most certainly can, but not without the help of a DB-9 to USB converter. They typically run about $30 (US). Just Google "DB-9 to USB coverter" and guaranteed you will come up with something. I am sure that online is really going to be the only place to find it though. Most retailers wouldn't typically carry anything like this.
