The best time to conceive is when a woman is ovulating. In a regular 28 day cycle, ovulation would occur roughly around mid-cycle. This is when the egg is being released from an ovary and is ready to be fertilized by sperm.

I believe that my due date from my ultrasounds were 2weeks wrong. They say i were due March 9th, but i believe i were due Feb 22nd. I ended up having my bub on March 7th and she looked well cooked. I would say they could be wrong but probably no more then 2 weeks either way of the date they give you. You have 2 rememeber the date is only an estimate, if you know what day your last period was or when you last had sex, if your able to work out your own date i would say somewhere in between your date and the ultrasound would be the due date.
Is there a difference in how long XY-chromosome sperm for boys and XX sperm for girls live?
Here is more input and advice:
- X sperm are stronger than Y sperm but both will perish very quickly if allowed to dry out.
- The female carrying sperm are the slower sperm because of the genetic material it carries. The female sperm contain an X chromosome, while the male carrying sperm contain a Y chromosome. The Y chromosome is very small and contains very little genetic material in comparison to the X chromosome, so the male carrying sperm are able to swim faster and reach the egg sooner than the X carrying sperm.
- A baby's gender is determined by the chromosomes in the sperm, not the egg. XX makes female, XY makes male, all eggs contain an X chromosome, so sperm donates other X or Y chromosome. Female sperm live up to 5 days, male sperm up to 3 days. (Egg lives 12 to 24, maybe even 36 hours after ovulation.) Female sperm live longer but swim slower than male sperm. (Vaginal environment supposedly contributes to sperm longevity, alkaline/acidic - male sperm prefer baking soda douche prior to sex, female prefer acidic (vinegar) (supposedly) - but most importantly of all, male swim quicker, so for male baby, have sex within 6 hours before ovulation, to beat female sperm to egg. Vice versa, for female baby, have sex 3-4 days before ovulation, for better chances of having a girl baby. Test for ovulation with home ovulation testing kit, get familiar with when you ovulate, and plan accordingly for future ovulations and future timing of intercourse.
- Men produce two types of sperm, those containing the X chromosome, female sperm, and those containing the Y chromosome, male sperm. Sperm are being produced continuously, they take about a month from the beginning until they are mature. As the Y chromosome is smaller than the X chromosome the male sperm is lighter and faster than the female sperm and therefore gets a head start towards the egg. Female sperm being heavier have more staying power and can keep going for longer.

What your discussing is Dr. Landrum Shettles method and his research has been question by better scientist than him. He was trying to sell a book.
There's no dispute that the X chromosome is bigger than the Y chromosome, as this photo clearly shows. But the sex chromosome is only one of the 23 chromosomes carried by a sperm -- in total, an X sperm carries only 2.9% more genetic material than a Y sperm. As you can see, the difference isn't that great.

Data from the study shows that, not only are X and Y sperm indistinguishable from one another, even abnormal sperm cells with the wrong number of chromosomes -- too many or too few chromosomes -- cannot be identified by having a different shape or size.

I would not change my due date. Babies grow at different rates and times in the womb. Some babies will take a little longer to grow than others. Some will wait till closer to time to really start growing and others will slow down when it gets closer to time. If you know when your last period was I would go with that date. Also be aware that babies do not come on any set day. They can be early or late. Pleanty of women have carried that babies up to 3-4 weeks "late". You baby knows when it is time to be born. They may need a few extra days in the womb to develop. Give them this time. You do not want a pre term baby just because you have a set date. I have also found that Midwifes are a lot more baby friendly than Doctors can be. If you can find a Midwife in your area I would at least give her a call. You can go to a Midwife and doctor at the same time. Midwifes seem to have more time to spend with you and are very understanding of all your needs and questions. Birth centers run by Midwife are a very ideal place to have your baby. I would check one out if I were you and see if you would like to deliver there. Again this is just as safe and maybe safer than a hospital. Good luck with your baby!

For the doctors to come up with a due date they would have estimated the time of conception. I'm assuming you've probably had an ultrasound for them to get an idea of how far a long you are, and they should be able to give you an idea about when you conceived. You should ask your doctor at your next prenatal appointment. I'm due the same day as you and next week I will be 16 weeks along. We did fertility treatments so they didn't have to guess so much at my conception date. We did IUI on April 8th, so the egg and sperm would have met by April 9th.
