How much time will you do on a 10 year federal sentence?

You do not do 80% of the time in a Texas prison unless its a federal charge in a texas located Federal prison. In TDCJ an inmate serves 25% of their sentence in non aggrevated offenses, and usually about 50% on aggrevated offenses. This just means the person is eligible for parole at 25% and 50% of the time, respectively. The time is also calculated by actual days served plus good time. So if you have all good time, parole eligibility is actually at around 15% of the sentence. Most people do not make their first parole though, so I would not expect a person with a 10 year sentence to make it out in 15 months. Realistically from what I understand, if non aggrevated a 10 year sentence would most likely do around 3-4 years. Hope that helps

Can Rae Carruth get out early on good behavior?

Yes! And he has been pretty good in prison. The last time he got in trouble was in 2004 for fighting with another inmate. He got into another fight with an inmate over a pen and was written up for throwing the first punch. A few punches was thrown between Carruth and the fellow inmate. Rae was send to solitary confinement for 20 days but was released due to overcrowding. Other than that he's very low-key and hasn't been much of a trouble maker since. His PRD (projected release date) is October 2018, but he could be out in March 2016. Hope that helps. :)

How did prisons start?

This question is referring to the origins of the corrections department of justice system. The concept itself is ancient of rehabilitating and incarcerating those who are a threat to society as whole, themselves and others. The term corrections however is a more modern term dating to the past century away from using the term prisons.

How much time would a female get for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon 2nd degree felony in texas?

It will depend on your priors. On a two year TDC Agg. Assault sentence alone EVERYONE should make their first parole, which will come after serving 14 months. Can't catch any cases while inside either, of course. It will set off your parole hearing for 6 more months and you will end up serving full term.

Does punishment prevent crime?

Look at what the sheriff in Phoenix Az. has done. Take all the resort type life away from the convicts. Leave them in the heat and cold . And let them know every day why they are there. Clean out death row exacute all of those that have been put there for that reason. Don`t keep feeding and clothing them. One appeal is enough to prove if they are guilty or not. Then in 30 days carry out the sentence that was given to them.

The prison system in Arkansas used to have to raise the food stuff in the prison system. I remember when I was a teenager going by the prison and seeing white uniforms all out in the fields when it was light enough to see what you were doing. And they would be out there all day. But now when the temperature gets 80 degrees they are loaded on an air conditioned bus and taken back to the barracks in the cool.

I asked my boss one time when it got 90 degrees if I could go inside to sit in the cool I was told I could go home and then find a new job. Or get out there and get the job done like I was hired to do. Now that was not fair to me, or I didn`t think it was. Having to work in the heat while the prisoners were sitting in air conditioning and not earning their keep.

But there are too many soft hearted people out in the world that don`t think a convict should have to do anything, but set around in the law library filling out law suits that don`t really mean a thing. Just wasting more tax payers money. Put that chain gang back in action and put them off of their lazy behinds and out duing a lot of work everyday. Five and one half days a week.

Can you get a TV in jail?

It depends on the type of prison. In some US state and federal prisons, some prisoners have the option to earn privileges such as television time. TV is not universally available, nor are computers.

In the UK, satellite TV is available in some prisons (e.g. Feltham juvenile) and under the Incentives and Earned Privileges system elsewhere.

How do you find out inmate hearing information?

Such information is usually only available to the inmate's victims, family members, law enforcement and those who qualify under "need to know" guidelines. States enact regulations concerning what information can be released, the general requirement is those persons who qualify must attend the parole hearing. In some states it is possible to obtain certain information by contacting the prison authority's release and processing division. All states have victim support organizations which will aid a victim and/or family members in obtaining information concerning the inmate's behavior, treatment programs, parole hearing dates, and so forth.

What states have federal prisons for women?

You have asked a Good One - I know that this information has been lets say limited. I do know for some timethat that US government and other Govenments has been build large prisons to hold many many million prisoneers. Why so many you say? I believe I know why. They have been preparing for the worst. New news indicates Ice caps will melt by 2012 - They have been building Bunkers for themselves and very large and some secret prisons - I know of one in Alaska and it is said to be albe to house over 1 million population, unreal. Any how I have a rant I will share with you - Goodluck in finding any information about what I post here.

OK This is where I rant....

The US government has spent Billions and Billions bulding unground cities to make themselves sucure or at least the top 1% will be very well taken care of. While the rest of of will be able to stick this thing or things out. I have heard that in fact that they are now saying that by 2012 the caps will be thawed. I have read that in secret circles there is fear that if food is a shortage (read up on Spain and other national crop failures, Japans Jellyfish problem leading them to stealing Fish in USA's waters)and global floods cause world wide epedemics, that could panic over several billion people.Which leads me to a their #1 Contingent plan prior to this is to release aproximatly three (3) Engineered Viruses to Greatly limit the world populations and keep us from digging them out of their Bunkers. You might think that this sounds hanis, yet we will be scrapping for food to say the least. And it has been decided that this plan is the most compassioniate, for the masses (or whats left of us) will tear themselves a part.

But least I go on? You really didnt believe that if it all hit the fan they would bring you rations and doughnuts did you? Do you really think they would just Go under ground and trust us unworthies to just hack it out amongst ourselves? Its comming, everything you seen in movies like "The Stand" or "The Day After Tomarrow" and a few others. If you Don't believe me do some poking around. Read the following Articles. They now have Prison encamments that can easily house over 2 million prisoneers. What will you be Doing when it hits the fan?

Back to the Bunker:

By William M. Arkin

Sunday, June 4, 2006; B01

On Monday, June 19, about 4,000 government workers representing more than 50 federal agencies from the State Department to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission will say goodbye to their families and set off for dozens of classified emergency facilities stretching from the Maryland and Virginia suburbs to the foothills of the Alleghenies. They will take to the bunkers in an "evacuation" that my sources describe as the largest "continuity of government" exercise ever conducted, a drill intended to prepare the U.S. government for an event even more catastrophic than the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks...............

Gimmer Shelter: More Claret, Senator?

By David Hambling September 05, 2007 | 9:13:00 AMCategories: Bizarro, Homeland Security, Shhh!!!

My local shelter underneath a dingy apartment block looks pretty shabby beside the bunker intended to house the Senate and House of Representatives in the event of a nuclear war. Codenamed GREEK ISLAND, its location was a closely-guarded secret. But it was not out in the desert or at some impossibly remote wilderness spot. Incredibly, the Greenbrier Congressional Bunker was located beneath the plush Greenbrier Hotel ('defining luxury since 1778') in White Suphur Springs, West Virginia. Its presence was kept secret even from hotel staff for some thirty years.
