Joran Van Der Sloot is alive and well, living in or around Meuang Ake, Pathum Thani, Thailand. He, until recently, was living in a decent sized house, but his landlord recently kicked him out. I'm not sure where he is living right now, though he's still in the area.

I saw him in a local restaurant, amazingly with a young blonde western girlfriend in tow. He introduced himself as Joran Van Der Sloot, no shyness about it at all. I was stunned to actually run into him at all, much less with a girl who looked so much like Natalee Holloway. He is fairly well known by the people in the area, and as far as I know is not working a full time job. Not sure how he supports himself.

You're going to have to call the Jefferson County, Illinois Sheriff's Office for this one. Or probably the Illinois State Police.

1. The charges are read.

2. Last minute motions may be filed by the litigants or the judge's own motion.

3. The prosecutor makes an opening statement.

4. The defense attorney makes an opening statement but may delay until the defense case begins.

5. The prosecutor presents and direct examines the 1st witness.

6. The defense attorney cross examines the witness.

7. The prosecutor may redirect examine the witness about issues brought up in cross.

8. The defense may then recross on issues brought up on redirect.

(This goes back and forth till both sides have no more questions.)

(Witnesses may be asked to introduce exhibits.)

9. The prosecutor presents the next witness and 5 through 8 repeats.

10. When all prosecution witnesses are finished the defense will usually motion for a directed verdict, saying there is insufficient evidence for conviction--usually denied.

11. The defense puts on its case, repeating steps 5 through 9 but with the roles reversed.

12. The prosecutor may make a brief initial closing argument.

13. The defense makes its closing argument.

14. The prosecutor makes a final closing argument (unlike TV and movies, the prosecution goes last as it has the burden of proof).

15. The judge instructs the jury.

16. The jury deliberates.

17. The jury renders it verdict.

18. The verdict is read.

19. If a conviction, the sentence is delivered, or it may be postponed pending a pre-sentencing report, else the defendant is released if not convicted.

(During the trial either side may make motions or objections. There are often sidebars where the attorneys approach the bench and speak to the judge so the jury doesn't overhear. The jury is often sent out so things can be addressed without their overhearing.)

If done in the night time its 20-99 years in prison and if done during the day its 2-20 years. but only if you have been arrested before or if you violate probation for it. i should know...im on probation for it right now. i did it during the day.

To determine if someone has been arrested, call or go to the county jail where that person resides or was known to be. Ask the person who is at the desk, be prepared to have a full name and possible nickname for them to research as well as any other pertinant information that they might need. An arrest is public record.

That may be possible. You must appear at your court date and request it. The judge will decide whether to allow it. Many will, especially if you have extreme financial difficulties. Some courts will not allow it under any circumstances. Depending on the court, you may have to pay a processing or supervision fee while you are performing your community service, and you may have to be on probation.

You could serve 0 if your sentence is commuted or you are pardoned (and you accept) or you could serve to the max of 15 years. Commit further crimes while in prison and you could serve even longer. Most will probably serve less than the full 15 due to time off for good behavior or parole.

What exactly do you mean by privatized? State prisons are, as the name says, run by the state government, NOT the national government. So the answer to your question is No. Privatization is defined as any businesses ownership that is transferred from the public sector (government and state run things) to the private sector.

Depends on the Crime really. If you were found guilty of murder you will probably get out in seven years. If you got charged with a little bit of pot you will probably do the whole 90 years.

A life sentence is usually about 25 years.This may differ with each state. Many life sentences have to go in front of a parole board that board then decides if the life sentencee can be released. Life sentence without parole can be your entire life.

In general, how long time of any sentence you serve will depend on what state you are sentenced in. The rules and laws are different from state to state. Contact the court or department of corrections in the state you need information about. They will be able to give you the correct answer.

I'm pretty sure that ballistics analysts are the ones who take a spent round and define the size of the round, what type of weapon it was fired from, and try to find matches in the rifling grooves to narrow down the murder weapon to a single firearm(every firearm in the world leaves its own unique grooves on the spent round, like a fingerprint), which will hopefully point to a particular suspect in the murder case.

You are required to serve a minimum 85% on your federal sentence. You can qualify for up to 15% early release for good behavior. So, 85% of a five year sentence is the earliest one could get out of jail if convicted, which is about 4 years and 3 months.
