How does prawn reproduce?

Prawns reproduce sexually, with males and females engaging in a courtship process. During mating, the male transfers sperm to the female, who then fertilizes her eggs internally. The female carries the fertilized eggs on her abdomen until they hatch into larvae. This larval stage eventually develops into juvenile prawns, which then grow into adults.

Do crayfish tail bend?

Yes! Their tails bend! They use them to propel themselves backwards to evade predators. Or dig themselves into the sand or substrate of the river or lake. We have one that we caught in a lake in WA state and now have in a fresh water tank. He/She? Is getting bigger everyday. We originally thought it was a sand shrimp but it grew and it's claws got large and red and the body got blue and grey and he has big red rosy cheeks. We fed him chopped up lettuce frozen in ice cubes at first but now we feed him Frog Pellets from Petco and Worms from the yard and blood worms (petco) as well as Tetramin tropical flakes, Cherrios, Cashews, Pecans and Walnuts and even bologna and chicken! That thing will eat ANYTHING even the tadpole that he once shared a tank with! (well ..he got the tail so we took him out and put him in another tank). We had a water scorpion with him for a while but they fought over food. Crayfish/Crawdads are MEAN!! But, YES... he uses his tail to propel himself backwards. They really are not very good swimmers. Quite clumsy too, and this one is used to the person who feeds him but when I put my face close to the tank he gets up on his front claws as if he's going to attack me! We have learned a TON with this little guy in the tank, feeding him everyday since last summer (It's Mid March now and we got him approx last July) . They also use their tails to hide themselves in the sand when they get scared (like when we have a stick or net in there to catch them). I would not put this guy back in the lake since he has not grown up in the wild, he would probably not survive one day! He is about 6" long now and began at about 1.5". We didn't even see his eyes at first and now they stick out about 2.5mm! He's an interesting and educating pet but not a pet to coddle and DEFINITELY NOT a pet to share a tank with ANYTHING ESPECIALLY his own kind! That gets WAY crazy as they will fight to the death!!

What is any of various edible decapod crustaceans?

Crayfish (crawdads), crabs, lobsters, and shrimp are among the more familiar edible decapods.

Other decapods that are frequently eaten although not well-recognized are squat lobsters, spiny lobsters, slipper lobsters, and king crabs; these are often sold as "lobster" or "crab" although they are not lobsters or crabs.

Krill, small shrimp-like decapods, are eaten in Russia and Japan. There are estimated to be between 150 million and 750 million TONS of krill in the waters around Antarctica.
