What is the Symbolism of a dandelion tattoo?
"I think the thing about dandelions is that they are such a strong part of youth. Every child can't resist them. They are fascinating and interactive and just so perfectly fun. And then we grow up and dandelions become less interesting and you walk by them all the time and never stop to actually blow on one. You remember how fun it was but you still are too busy to have fun. And something like this reminds us that there is joy in youth that ought to be cherished and not lost when we're older.
To me it's more than the old cliche ot take time and smell the flowers, it's a reminder to take time and smell the flowers the way you did when you were young. Because that's when the world was most beautiful of all."

Dandelions start as seeds that germinate in the soil. When conditions are right, they grow into a mature plant with a yellow flower head. You can leave it alone:
If you don't want dandelions or if local zoning laws require that you get rid of them, you can spray a broad-leaf weed killer to get rid of them. Always read the use and safety direction on the package and keep kids away from it for a while and reseed the area with lawn grass seed. You might also want to till the area (turn over the dirt) before seeding. Annual grass comes up quickly but dies at the end of the season. Perennial grass comes up much slower but doesn't die at the end of the winter. A mixture of annual and perennial seeds works best. You will get green grass faster and it will continue to stay green afterwards. Stay away from Zoysia grass unless you read up on it first and decide you want it.. It can spread to neighbors and take over their normal grass lawn, and becomes dormant (turns brown) in when weather cools.
You can also hire a gardening company to do this for you.
