How much is a 1940's shilling worth in the us today?
Assuming you're referring to a British shilling, it has no current value in commerce.
The coin's face value is equivalent to 5p; shillings and old-style 5p coins co-circulated up till the early 1990s when new and much smaller 5p coins were introduced. All older 5p and 1s coins were then withdrawn from circulation.
However, many older shillings can be worth a premium to collectors - please post a new question with the coin's exact date.

How much is a 1940s autograph book worth with over 120 baseball player autographs?
== == Each of the 120 signatures would have to be valued on it's own merit. Each signature will be valued as a "cut signature". Cut Signatures are often cut from an item that has been ruined to save its value from such items as a cover of a publication, photograph, letter or notebook on which it was originally signed. Cuts are commonly used by collectors to display with a framed photo, or for inserts by baseball card companies.
If you sell the autograph book as a whole you would get less money, but more information would be needed to give a more accurate value.

Was there tv in color in 1940s?
Someone was probably working on it somewhere and it became available in the either the very late 1940's or early fifties. It was incredibally expensive and color qulity was poor. People had a greenish tint or a reddish tint but you could never get it just right. Keep in mind that in the 1950's a lot of US households didn't even have a black and white TV. I bought my first color set in 1967. It was a Bradford 13" portable that weighed about 200 pounds. The color quality was still poor and faded in and out all the time. The Bradford was the cheapest set I could find and it cost me $252.00. Today you can buy a much better 13" color portable for about $65.00.
