Remington didn't make a Model 1 shotgun, if it's a #1 Rolling block it could be shot out but it's no a shotgun. Were men and women treated equally at work in 1948?

No they were not. Men were paid more than women for the same work and women tended to be relegated to low paying jobs that were not valued, such as: housecleaners, cooks, waitresses, phone operators and hairdressers. It was much much harder for a woman to get a degree and when she did, she had a hard time finding work in a professional field, such as being a lawyer or doctor. Even in those fields, women were paid far less than their male counterparts.

What did America gain in winning Guadalcanal?

When Guadalcanal was taken America and its allies prevented Japan from extending its influence across the SW Pacific. This meant Australia could be supplied with munitions and men more easily.

It also created a situation whereby Japan was forced to use up a great part of its naval resources, both ships and aircraft, to try to retake Guadalcanal.

In short; Japan had a relatively small number of high quality pilots, aircraft, and ships, but not enough for a prolonged war over a large area.

What was life like for the rich in 1945?

The rich did have it easier than the middle class and poor classes. If rich people had businesses that could help the war effort they would convert their business to make things and weapons for the war. If they had businesses that did not benefit the war effort they often saw their business profits go downhill. Other people like entertainers usually did alright. The rich did have rationing so they had to find other methods of travel rather than use their cars very much. They often donated large sums towards the war bonds. Entertainers were very good about providing free food and friendship and entertainment at what they called "Canteens" for military people from around the world. They would also do USO shows and volunteer to do Red Cross services. Some rich people even joined the military. It did not matter if you were rich or poor everyone pitched in toward the war effort and prayed for their men and women to come home safely from the war. The rich business men started hiring women and blacks and Mexicans to do the work the Military boys left behind. Naturally not all the rich had to give up things, such as selling off cars or homes or things. They did not have to share rooms with others just to survive. Some of the rich people were nice and let military wives live in their homes.
