What color should you paint your walls to match a comforter that is black and silver?

I can imagine that a cool (not reddish) brown will look nice, mid-dark.

It depends a bit on the rest of the interior (is there wood in the room? Then match it to the wood)

Other suitable colors: light or dark grey, eventually toned towards other color elements in the room.

Where can you buy striped paint?

They don't make striped paint

My Version:You have to make your own.

To do this:

  1. Buy two colours of paint
  2. Buy a bunch of masking tape.
  3. Decide how wide your stripes will be and whether one colour will be wider than another.
  4. Paint the wall the colour that will cover the most of the wall and allow to dry or cure depending what paint you are using.
  5. Take the masking tape and cover the original colour where you don't want the second colour
  6. Paint between the lines of tape

You can get wide and thin tape to help if you are doing small stripes.

What is a guide painters use to charge per square feet?

Generally, but not always, painters will charge by the square foot.

They charge between 75% and 125% of the cost of the paint need to cover the room. The variation covers such things as regional labour cost differences; experience of the painter(s); and difficulty of the project. There may be some reduction in cost if you are having the entire house painted as opposed to one room.

Should i paint the air intake grate in my house?

I painted mine. It's best to wipe them off/out first, else you'll paint the dirt too. I put painter's tape all around it and if spray painting (easiest for these), I also put a wider painting cloth around as well because the paint travels airborne. Apply 2 coats. I've used spray paint and regular wall paint. Apply first coat, let it dry for a day, then apply second coat.

What does provide tooth mean?

In painting or staining, providing a surface with tooth is a way of roughening the surface so it will "bite" into the pain coat, and hold it in place. "Tooth" can be supplied by scuffing the surface using sandpaper, or steel wool, or it can be provided by a type of undercoat. It's purpose is always the same - to make the top coat grip better.

Will a burnt orange wall go with a yellowish gold leather couch And what accent colors can you use for a rug and other furniture pieces?

Burnt orange and golds are warm earthy colours and will work well together.

The addition of a rug in greens, rusts, and/or browns would be nice (and a bit retro) if you use throw pillows and or draperies that include your colour choice(s).

I do recommend a bit of black in the room as an accent, it will tend to ground the room and add a bit of drama. Other upholstered furniture should follow your colour choices, and the occasional tables would be nice in a dark stained wood.
