They were not always a self centered group of hypocrites. The Democratic party of the 60's was interested in equality and fairness for all. They seemed to slip away from these ideals under Jimmy Carter's term. A self proclaimed disaster if a President, he managed to put into place the crisis in the banking industry we have today (1978 CRA laws) and destroyed our international ability to collect information. The fall of IRAn from democracy can be traced directly to his failed policies.

Democrats have never been for capitalism or free trade, but the last 30 years have seen a complete disregard for the items that made this country great. They are now a sad lot that drift with public polls and seem to be more interested in what they can pilfer from us then helping the country.
