How do you train a dog not to jump on people?
First method (recommended)
Here are some few steps to train your dog not to jump on other people and yourself.
1. Each time your dog jumps on someone and you see it happen before your eyes, right away tell him/her no and if he/she doesn't stop, put her/him to his four.
2. Once he/she is on the ground award him for that is what you like. Give him/she something he/she likes, for example a doggy treat, snack, biscuit etc.
3. Do not yell or tell him/her "no" after he/she has jumped on someone and stopped. He/She will get the message you want him/her to keep jumping.
4. Repeat 1 and 2. Then after a week or so of training he/she will come to understand jumping on others is a bad thing.
Second method (Training is one on one, not with people but effective over time with most dogs)

When he/she jumps shake it real hard your dog will surly back away.
Third method (Training is with you and others but not effective on all dogs)
Have a spray bottle fill with water ready. When you see your dog misbehaving then let him/her know by a simple spray of water on him/her.
