They aren't extremely noisy. They useally bray right around feeding time, when a new donkey enters the herd, or when they really want some attention. But the miniature donkey's sweet disposition and friendly personality makes up for any extra noise they make. I personally cannnot imagine life without them. They seem to be addictive..... :)

I've actually never heard this term used, but there is a breed of donkey (though some contend this, actually) called the American Mammoth Jackstock donkey. I would assume that a Mammoth Mule would be a mule whose sire was a Mammoth Jackstock donkey.
