They are the same as those an a bass guitar, if that helps. so, imagine you are holding the doulble-bass, about to play. The string on the far left (the highest note) is a G, the next one along is a D, then A then E.

The string bass (the biggest instrument in the string family) has two different styles of bowing, and two different bows to accommodate them. The most common one you see is the English style, in which the bow is held with the fingers and is perpendicular to the forearm. The other style is the German style, in which the bow is held in the hand and is parallel to the forearm. There are advantages and disadvantages to both kinds of playing. Mostly it boils down to how you were taught- players tend to stick with what they are most familiar with.

The bass bow is so short that it is possible to have these two styles. The higher the instrument, the longer the bow, so you can't really manage the German style on a violin, viola or cello.

It is a plucked, fretted, stringed electrophone. In other words, it has strings which are plucked; the strings are pressed down behind metal frets to determine pitch, and the instrument's sound is amplified electrically. Less technically, it is most closely related to the electric guitar, with some input from the orchestral double-bass, and it has acoustic ancestors including the Mando-bass, the Bass Banjo and the Contrabass Balalaika. The actual Acoustic Bass Guitar, however is a recent invention, dating from no earlier than the late 1960s.

Usually maple for the neck, back, sides and bridge; spruce for the top; ebony for the nut, fingerboard and tailpiece, brass or steel for the tuning machines and steel for the end-pin. Strings may be steel, gut (sheep intestines), silk, nylon or a combination. Many cheaper instruments have a body made from laminated wood (plywood) - they will be stronger but will not sound as good as solid wood. In the mid-20th century, some basses were made from aluminum (US: aluminum) or fibreglass (US: fiberglass) - these are no longer made. Recently a few companies have begun to make high-quality instruments from carbon fibre. These are light, virtually indestructable and have a tone comparable to that of a fine solid wood bass.

However a few likely explanations is that he is getting older, does not practise enough and that he was never really able to play as well as the drumming on the albums. Much can be done in a studio and Flemming Rasmussen(the producer of ...and justice for all, among others) is rumoured to have said "the recording of ...and justice for all would have taken 3 months less if Lars Ulrich could play the drums"

1. The Tuba uses a mouthpiece which uses the lips for amplification and, with more experience, can bring out lower and lower notes depending on the experience of the player. If the Tuba did not use a mouth piece then it would have a set range. Because of the mouth piece the tubas range is virtually unlimited. Plus the bigger the mouth piece the bigger the range, and the tuba has the biggest mouth piece of the brass family.

2. Along with this potential for range the Tuba has many feet of tubing making its range center very low. It is the largest wind instrument so lots of tubing.

The lowest string on a four string double bass is an E string. If you have a fairly rare five string double bass then the lowest fifth string is a B string.

It's not too difficult: First you will need remove the back seats entirely. Start w/ the lower part of seat.(the part of set you sit on) If you feel around under the front edge of seat you find 2 plastic pull tabs. There is one on each side of the seat. Pull the tabs forward one at a time and it will release the bottom back seat. Now to remove the upper back seat. You see 4 bolts 2 on each side and 2 in the middle. Remove these bolts (& put in safe place). Now to get the back upper seat out, you need to lift from the bottom of the seat up. Do this on each side and in the middle. There are 'hooks' behind the seat that hold it in place. Once you've freed the upper part of the back seat, you'll need to feed the seat belts around the seat as you remove it and it should just pull right on out. If you do not have the factory spoiler, then you'll you also need to remove the third tail light. To do this you'll find 2 bolts holding the third tail in place in the upper mid section of the truck. You kind of need to almoost get part way in the trunk facing up to see what I'm taking about. (not a comfortable position!) You'll then need to just twist out the bulb and it's wiring harness. It's kind of 'keyed' similar to replacing a turn signal bulb. You're almost there. Last thing to do is to remove the rear deck lid. You'll need to remove the 3 bolts and bolt covers in the middle front of the rear deck lid. The bolt covers snap open, and you'll see the bolts. Once that's done carefully pull the deck lid out. Once out, you'll see the speakers. They are standard 6X9 speaker housing and bolt pattern, so most any aftermarket speakers will fit in nicely. Some modification will have to done to the existing factory speaker wires. You'll have to cut off the Mitz. wire harness 'clip' and then manually connect + & - leads from the stock wires to the wires on your new speakers. I really wish I could show some pictures because it's alot easier than it sounds! Hope this gets you going. I put some Sony Explode series 4 way 6x9's in the rear and 4way 5 1/4" door speakers (had to make some modifications on the door speakers) A Sony Head unit, Pioneer 760W trunk mounted amp, and 2 JBL 10" diaganolly apposed custom sub. cabinet w/ plexi-glass window in front.
