How do you take dragonfly what does it eat?

I am not sure what "taking a dragonfly" is, but I presume you mean "catching" one. If they are flying, use a butterfly net. If that is too hard, than look by the water for ones that have fallen in. The will be probably near death, so be gentle, and use a net or a jar with holes to capture them. Also, dragonflies usually eat smaller insects, such as gnats and mosquitos. Hope this helps!

Can a dragonfly bite your cat?

Yes. Though no dragonfly will ever spontaneously land on a person and bite them, dragonflies are capable of biting (it's how they catch their prey). However, even the largest dragonfly can't break the human skin barrier, so more often than not, if you catch a dragonfly and itdoes try to bite you... you probably aren't going to feel much.

Doesn't change the fact they look pretty scary, of course.

Added 9/20/2009: So "I" thought. But the other evening a large one had gotten trapped inside our pool screen. As I've done a bizillion times I gathered it up to take it outside. I did this by cupping my hands around it. Well, let me tell you, to my immense surprise the critter bit my left ring finger and broke the skin. It was quite painful. The wound looks like the mark stapling a finger might make.

Yes, a dragonfly does bite :[ One just bit me a few days back, and it was indeed really painful. Not too sure of what should be done after it has biten. The thumb just swole up a little bit, seemed pretty fine the next day.

"They do bite!," for one got in and bit one of my cats-- (I have many of them)." were playing with it and I heard this yelp, the little critter bit the feline. :) LOL! I thought it was a mosquito, and I was going to kill it since they could give the cat a disease, but after further inspection inside a jar, it is a dragon fly: at first, it did not look like a dragon fly because I could only see one set of wings, but the smaller ones are but almost indistinguishable.) But its pinchers look much smaller than a female praying mantus' so I am shock that this little creature gave my kittie a nice chomping. :) LOL

I am glad to save this dragon fly and let it go. I am in Va and its been warm, but a cold snap hit, so I am wondering if it will make it? This week its supposed to get warmer, so we will see. 03/29/2011 The have unusually sleek bodies almost slender looking with amazing round bubble like as if deep seated black eyes. The torso and body reminds me of a coachroach or a spider's (underneath). The tail looks like an appendage that was broken off from another animal. Its antenae are very long almost two inches--and its legs mimic those of a water spidder's. An ad-hoc insect!

they are perfect bb gun targets
