Once you make a bid on an item on eBay is it possible to opt out even if you are the highest bidder?

Generally, you cannot opt out after you have placed a bid on an eBay item. This is because all bids that you make are binding; that is, if you win an item, you have to pay for it, even if you've changed your mind.

There are only a few exceptions where you can legitimately withdraw your bid and these are:

if you cannot contact the seller

if the seller changes the listing after you have placed your bid

if you accidentally bid the wrong amount (although in this case you need to bid again straightway but entering the correct amount)

If you do win an item and do not pay for it, the seller will almost certainly open a case against you. This is because eBay charge the seller a fee for the sale, even if you do not pay, and the only way for the seller to recoup that fee from eBay is for them to open a case against you. When the case is closed (assuming that you still haven't paid) you will have a non-paying strike on your account.

If you put a high bid on eBay do you only pay the first increment over the last bid or does it immediately jump to your high bid?

Your high bid generally adds a single increment, although there are exceptions. If the current high bidder (ie, the person you're bidding against) also has entered a high bid, you will be outbidding each other 'by proxy' and whichever of you made the highest bid will then show as the new current high bidder. Should you both have made the same high bid, the person who made that bid first will show as the current high bidder. If you are bidding on an item with a reserve and your high bid hits (or surpasses) that reserve, your bid will show as the reserve amount.

Disadvantages of the Online Auction?

1) The item may not sell, you'll have to re-list it, and pay an additional fee.

2) A buyer may bid and not pay, resulting in a lost sale and a re-listing fee.

3) It is time-consuming to add a category, descriptions, price, shipping

method, and photos to a listing.

4) It is time-consuming to promote listings to drive traffic to auctions.

5) People may try to convince you to close a listing and sell to them off the site.

Is there a Korean eBay site?

Yes, there is.

You can find the direct link to the Korean site by going to any eBay homepage and scrolling to the bottom of it - all existing eBay sites are listed there. Just click on the country name and you will be transferred to the corresponding site.

Korean eBay website is www.auction.co.kr in Korea. eBay acquired Auction.co.kr in 2001 and adopted its name, instead of changing to eBay.co.kr and www.gmarket.co.kr is another big auction website in Korea. They are like the rivals. www.gmarket.co.kr has English shop but www.auction.co.kr looks like they only support Korean in language. If you are Korean or can read Korean, there is website called "eBay Korean Community" www.ebaykorean.com This website answers all the questions with eBay, but site is in Korean.

First thing sold on eBay?

Good question. Well, E-bay was founded by a guy named Pierre Omidyar in 1995. Then, the site was called AuctionWeb, and was just a side-hobby to him(as Pierre called it.) He put a few used things on the site that he was willing to sell, and eventually, in late `95, he sold something. He sold a broken laser pointer that he used to use as a toy for his pet cat. Amazingly, Pierre sold the broken laser for $14.00. Today, the same site is now called E-bay, and Pierre has made his way up to a billionaire.

Items bought from eBay are bought from individuals (noteBay, the company), and they can be located anywhere in the world.

Some sellers will dispatch your item the same day that you pay, others will not dispatch for up to 7 days (sometimes even longer).

Add in the differing timeframes for global postal services to get the item to you and you can expect your item to arrive any time within a day and a month or two, after you pay.

Always ask your seller - they will have the best possible idea of when you can expect your item to arrive

What does RM 2.00 mean when you see it on eBay?

RM is the abbreviation for the currency of Malaysia, the Malaysian Ringgit. 2.00 RM means that the item you are looking at is currently priced at 2 Malaysian Ringgits. If you are logged onto your local eBay site (that is, the one that applies to the country you live in), just beneath the RM price you will be shown an approximate equivalent value in your own currency. If you are browsing on the Malaysian site (www.ebay.com.my), you will only see the RM price. In that case, you can either use currency converters (available online) to check the current conversion rate, or copy and paste the item number in to the search box on your local site.

Do you think the prices of the items traded on eBay determined by demand and supply or in some other way?

Yes

Another answer

I have been an eBay seller since they opened practically. I truly believe from a sellers stand point that sellers are in competition with each other within the categories but the items sell differently for each item a seller may sell. It all depends who needs what and who is looking at your items at that particular time. Anyone who is in retail sales knows about it's ups and downs.

If I buy nfl jerseys from overseas can i resale them in a store or online like eBay or Craigslist?

Yes you can resell NFL jerseys bought from overseas either in a store or online. However it is important to understand that the NFL has strict regulations regarding the sale and resale of jerseys so it is important that you understand the rules before starting your business. Here are the main regulations you must follow:

  • You must have written permission from the NFL to resell jerseys.
  • You must pay royalties to the NFL for any jerseys you sell.
  • You must only sell officially licensed NFL jerseys.
  • You must not make any changes to the jerseys.
  • You must not use the NFL logo or trademark on any other products.

If you are not able to meet these requirements then it is not advisable to resell NFL jerseys from overseas. However if you are able to meet the requirements and understand the regulations then it is possible to resell NFL jerseys from overseas. You can do this either in a store or online through sites such eBay or Craigslist.
