Animals live in a particular habitat because they have evolved to survive in the conditions of that habitat. If the animal has physical and behavioral adaptations to survive there, then they are more likely to reproduce and more animals of their kind will thrive in that habitat. For example, a dolphin has adaptations to survive in an ocean habitat. They have a blowhole, fins, etc. Those adaptations wouldn't help a dolphin in the desert habitat, though. If an animal is not adapted to live in a particular habitat, it must go someplace else or it will die.

A nonliving specimen is an object or organism that does not exhibit traits of life, such as growth, reproduction, or responding to stimuli. Examples include rocks, water, and fossils.

Disease is spread in dirty water. Lack of water leads to dehydration and death. Lack of water leads lack of cleanliness which causes many bacterial conditions due to fecal-oral contact. Lack of cleanliness leads to dramatic spread of disease.

The availability of sunlight is a major factor that limits where algae can be found in the open ocean. Algae rely on sunlight for photosynthesis, so they are usually found in the upper layers of the water column where light can penetrate. Nutrient levels and water temperature also play a role in determining the distribution of algae in the open ocean.

Changes during succession are predictable because they follow a pattern of gradual replacement of species over time. This predictability arises from the interactions between species and the environment driving the successional process.

Interacting systems have components that influence each other directly, leading to a more complex and integrated behavior. Non-interacting systems, on the other hand, have components that operate independently without affecting each other. The interactions in a system can lead to emergent properties that are not present in non-interacting systems.

Passive transport does not come to a stop as long as there is a concentration gradient. Once equilibrium is reached and there is no longer a difference in concentration on either side of the membrane, passive transport will slow down significantly but may continue at a very slow pace.

Endangered species are enlisted in the Red list of the IUCN. Endangered species are listed by strict criteria of the Red List Criteria. Many species of Shark are listed as endangered in the IUCN Red List, such as Borneo shark (1994), Smoothback Angel shark(1994), Speartooth shark(1994), Whitefin topeshark(1994). Organisms that produce their own food through photosynthesis are called autotrophs. They are capable of converting sunlight into energy to synthesize organic compounds like carbohydrates. Examples include plants, algae, and some bacteria.

Younger people are more flexible than older people because younger people stretch more and exercise more as they are much more flexible. Older people don't exercise a lot and don't stretch a lot as joints get stiffer and tighter with age. Younger people does ballet dance to stretch their connective tissue and they get a lot more flexible as adults.

By losing weight, stopping smoking, exercising more and reducing the amount of fat and cholesterol in the diet, many people can bring their cholesterol levels down to acceptable levels.

When exotic species are introduced into a new ecosystem, they often don't encounter the same factors that controlled the exotic species population or growth that was in the original ecosystem.

Wind in mangroves helps disperse seeds and spores, aids in pollination, and provides oxygen for respiration. However, strong winds can damage mangrove trees and disrupt sediment deposition and nutrient cycling in the ecosystem.
