The use of dogs in fighting sports, similar to cock fights is considered a form of animal cruelty and is considered offensive to many people and is illegal in many countries.
Airplane dogfights are a way for combatants in aircraft to gain control of the sky above an area in military conflict. This protects their ground forces from aerial attacks.
Why are the F4 Phantom Elevators Angled Down?
The Phantom elevators are angled down ( called anhedral ) to make it more unstable. -Does that sound crazy -well, fighters ( remember the Phantom was designed as a naval fighter ) perform dogfights MUCH better if they are inherently unstable. -That big machine could barrel roll faster than you could blink -
Where was the Ammunition stored in World War 2 fighter planes?
In almost all WW2 fighters the guns were in the wings, so the ammunition trays were in the wings too. Some exceptions were the Me 109 where they had guns above and around the engine so ammunition was stored right behind the engine.
How much does a fighter jet cost in Vietnam?
Excepting the F105 which was the largest single engine jet in the US inventory during the war, the average SINGLE engine jet cost roughly a million dollars.
How many people does the F-15 hold?
Well there's A models which hold one person, the B models hold two persons the C models hold one person and D models hold hold two people and the E models hold too people also.
Did Pratt and Whitney make the engines for British Spitfire?
- No, the 'Mighty' Merlin engine was made by Rolls Royce Ltd, known for their ultra luxury cars and hand-built aircraft engines. They were SO good that Packard made licence built copies for the P-51 Mustang.
In this particular case (i.e. the Sukhoi - and, coincidentally, the MiG-29) it is due to the efficiency of the targeting system - specifically the OLS-27 IRST: the better the system the fewer the rounds required to achieve a hit.
The designers actually stated at one point that, had they known how good the system was, they'd have halved the number of on-board rounds.
In addition modern rounds tend to be considerably more destructive than previous armaments, therefore fewer hits are required to bring down an enemy aircraft.
How much does a fighter jet costl?
Every aircraft has different costs, and there really isn't a way to tell till they are over modifications and into production. The F-35 for instance is reputed to cost anywhere from 200 million to 300 million per unit.
Messerschmitt 109 vs Spitfire what is the better aircraft?
The better aircraft was dependent upon the altitude where the fight took place. The Spitfire was better at low altitude (below 20,000 feet), the Me 109 was better up high. The Messerschmitt had a better fuel injection system and the pilot could put the nose down and dive if he got into trouble. The Spit's engine would stall if the pilot did that. The Spitfire pilot would turn tightly to avoid trouble while the Me 109 pilot would dive to escape. Generally, planes that can turn tightly do not dive well. One plane turns better, the other dives better. The skill of the pilot was the most important factor. The Spitfire evolved into the better plane later in the war.
What is the flying range of the spitfire PRXIX?
Many Spitfire PR XIX models had the upgraded Mk VII wing and an extra fuselage tank. These aircraft had a range of 900-1,000 miles.
Is the Spitfire the most famous airplane in the world?
That's hard to say as it's really opinion. I would certainly say it's in the top 5. The P-51 Mustang, Hawker Hurricane, F4 Phantom, Mig 15, and Me 109 are all right up there for being very well known.
Does India have F-22 fighter jet?
No. The F-22 has not been made available for export, and India has always had stronger customer ties to the former Soviet Union and present-day Russia than it has the US.
What weapons did the p-51 mustang have?
The P51 mustang has Six .50 caliber machine guns and a external bomb load of 2,000 lbs
Why is the P-51 mustang not in blazing angels 2?
I'm not sure. I love the game, but the game doesn't seem complete without such a classic American plane, right? Most of the planes in the game are British, but the game is centered around an American squadron. It doesn't really make sense, but since they wasted a lot of time making enemy aircraft (a real American pilot wouldn't get caught dead in an enemy plane), they probably couldn't fit it in there (you know what I mean?). Hope this helps.
Which one is best LCA Tejas or jf-17 thunder?
Thrust with Afterburner Jf-17 84.4 Kn | Tejas Mk-I 85 Kn
G-limit Jf-17 +8.5 g | Tejas Mk-I +9g to -3.5 g
Dry Thrust Jf-17 49.4 Kn | Tejas Mk-I 53.9 Kn
Loaded Weight Jf-17 9,100kg | Tejas Mk-I 10,500 kg
Hardpoints Jf-17 7 | Tejas Mk-I 8
Max Weapon loadout Jf-17 3629 kg | Tejas Mk-I 4000 kg
Tejas has moderate edge in Physical performance front and is a wholly different project as far as technology is concerned. Its airframe, made of advanced carbon fibre composites, is light years ahead of the Jf-17 Thunder's all-metal airframe. The same goes for the Tejas' aerodynamics which, because of the compound delta-wing, extensive wing-body blending, and low wing loading are superior to those of the Thunder, which has a more conventional layout along the lines of the F-16 and a rejected Soviet light fighter design. As far as flight dynamics and control go, the Tejas, with its relaxed static stability and quadruplex, full authority fly-by-wire digital flight control system, is far more advanced than the Thunder, which still features conventional controls (fly-by-wire exists only for pitch control).
ANS 2 - Having read all the available specs on both of these aircraft, I would say they are extremely well matched. Both have known and reliable engines, both have a similar weapons load, both use the same 23 mm cannon. The differences will come in the avionics suite and in the ability of the pilots.
