'Fiji water' is a natural mineral water, that is bottled in plastic bottles, transported to place of consumption and sold commercially in shops/bars etc as a healthy 'drink' for humans.

'Fiji water' contains the following dissolved solids: • Silica: 85 mg/L • Calcium: 17 mg/L • Magnesium: 13 mg/L • Fluoride: 0.26 mg/L • Bicarbonates: 140 mg/L • Total dissolved solids: 210 mg/L Analysis of Electrolytes in 'Fiji water': Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Chloride, and Bicarbonate: Total = 208 milligrams per liter.

The pH value of Fiji water is 7.5, which is alkaline, in contrast with rainwater, which is nearer to 6 pH and is therefore very slightly acidic. Not all plants can tolerate alkaline water, but some prefer it. See chart in Related Links.

Whilst 'Fiji water' is unlikely to do any harm to some plants, natural local rainwater might be the better option as it has no mineral content, the pH value is more suitable, and it arrives without transport and associated 'environmental/ecological' costs.
