Is a denture mold the same as dentures?
A denture mold is part of the process in making new dentures. dentures are fabricated in stages: A mold or impression is taken of the anatomical structures in the mouth. The denture teeth are set in a wax material that is stable at mouth temperature, this allows the client to see the cosmetics of the denture and the clinician to check the bite. Once the decision has been made that everything is fine, that wax denture is then put into a flask with plaster. Once the plaster has hardened, the flask is placed into hot water which softens the wax, the flask is then opened and all the wax is removed. You then have a mould into which the acrylic can be placed. So the acrylic replaces the wax component and after processing the acrylic becomes hard.
So the mold or mould could be either a term for the impression or a term for the flasking stage when you are making a mold or mold into which the acrylic would be placed to make the denture.
We also use the term mold or mould in dentistry to describe the particular shape of denture teeth, teeth come in all shapes and sizes.
The dentures themselves are the finished article worn by the client.

How do you measure curve of spee?
First, a flat plane is laid on top of the mandibular dental cast touching the incisal edges of the central incisors and the distal cusp tips of the most posterior teeth in the lower arch as done by Braun et al5 and Braun and Schmidt. Then, with a Vernier Caliper the perpendicular distance between the deepest cusp tip and the flat plane is measured. The measurement was made on the right and left side of the dental arch and the mean value of these two measurements were used as depth of curve of Spee.
i think it depends on what it's made with

Dentistry has come along way and luckily most people that require false teeth or partials are so real that people that don't know them well will never guess they have false teeth unless the person takes them out in front of that person.
Dental Stayplates should ONLY to be used as a temporary solution for one or more missing teeth while you are awaiting a permanent tooth replacement procedure. You CANNOT/SHOULD NOT eat with a stayplate so it should be removed for meals and at night while you sleep. It's only functions are 1. keeping remaining teeth from shifting due to your tooth loss temorarily and 2. Cosmetically pleasing (however, I would debate this highly considering that the metal clasp used to keep it stable is often clearly visible when you smile. Overall, this is a temporary fix for looks only and does irriate gums and is highly uncomfortable. Not recommended for anything but keeping teeth from shifting while yuou wait for a permanent solution. These ARE NOT DENTURES that can be used for eating and break very easily. If you plan on using this in place of paying for a partial...think again. It will NOT work the same. Overall: Good for temporary looks, and I recommend getting acutal partials or a bridge if you can help it. They sell snap on teeth on the internet for $50 if you want a quick fix for cosmetic reasons....otherwise, Stayplates are useless, fragile and uncomfortable.

it is sometimes needed after extraction of teeth for preparation of the patient for prosthetic treatment. Especially when multiple surgical extraction is carried out which leads to the un-uniformity of the alveolar ridge.

Should gum chewing be allowed in school?
The answer for this question can be tipped either way. Yes--- Because it couldn't harm anybody (unless you put it in somebody's hair, but I think we all grew out of that) and if you don't chew it like a cow than it shouldn't distract others, but schools just think of the negatives. They think of gum getting stuck under desks or in the fountain and the janitors actually have to do their job. They worry that we might forget it's in our mouth and accidentally choke on it or something. In my opinion, I believe it's not a big deal. We're all big kids.... Unless you're a kindergartner....
