It is unlikely that blood type has much to do with it. A scientific study was done with mosquito found that they are more attracted to different people's scents. It is likely the same with fleas. So a person who gets bitten a lot basically smells good to them.

I too, have had a flea problem in my home. Well, they are mostly found on the carpet/sofa/curtains region. These non-flying, jumping dots are a nuisance. No spray works on them

But i have a solution. Get a insecticide powder. Sprinkle it thoroughly everywhere, especially the regions i have mentioned above, as well as the enterance of the house. After 2 hours, vaccuum your house. Do this consistently thrice a day, till a week.. and guess what, NO FLEAS!!!

First give your dog a good flea bath using flea shampoo. Then afterwards use one of those once a month flea medications such as Frontline Plus or Advantage II. It is a once a month flea medication that will prevent fleas & ticks from getting on him or her for a month. You apply it topically. You should also put your dog on a once a month heartworm preventative, but your Veterinarian would need to test your dog for the heartworms first to make sure he or she is negative for them before beginning the once a month heatworm preventative. It is a simple blood test.

Kittens under 8 weeks of age should not be treated with any chemical flea/tick control products. Believe it or not, Dawn dish detergent is the best thing. The surfactants in the soap smother the fleas. Dawn does not kill flea eggs, so it is best to bathe the kitten often until no more fleas are found. Try to leave the soap on the kitten for at least 5-7 minutes. I have done this to many kittens that have been rescued from flea infested areas and after 2 or 3 baths they are flea free until it's time to start the Frontline! Just be careful not to get it on their face or eyes. You will have to manually pick off the fleas that migrate there to avoid the dishsoap. Remember to keep your kitty warm and give him lots of hugs while he warms up!

It does but there are areas of concern it does not address and a better way with carpets would be to use an aerosol like Precor2000 or an adulticide (concentrate) you mix yourself and spray every inch until damp like a pro does although it would take a couple hours to dry out. Getting all that salt out of your carpet and living with it till you get results would probably not be desirable. The aerosol method has its advantages, you can easily treat soft furniture, the droplets are optimum size for deep penetration in your carpet and it contains a growth regulator in the mix- although it is not cheap.

There are multiple products labelled for use against lice--pyrethrin products (shampoos, fly sprays, powders), ivermectin and moxidectin dewormers, insecticide powders, etc. The key is to treat every 10 days for a minimim of 3 treatments in order to break the life cycle. Vinegar will not kill fleas on any animal.

Bathing is the best option. The safest flea product on the market for kittens is Revolution which you can use in kittens as young as 4 weeks. However, you can use Advantage on a nursing mother which will protect the kittens as well.

The best thing i have found for killing fleas on a kitten is dawn dishdetergent. wet the kitten cover it in dawn scrub it good and leave the dawn on for 10 min. I know the cat will not be happy but it will kill the fleas and wont harm the kitten like some chemical ones can

I have been breeding pit bulls for 20 years and I have used tide on numerous occasions treat fleas. Generously spread it around on the ground and in the dog house. For small puppies, mix tide with water in a spray bottle, shake well and spray directly onto puppy. Adult dogs, I prefer to bathe them with dawn or Ajax dish detergent quick normally

Also, there really isn't much of a difference between dog fleas and cat fleas. They're the same thing.

and also even if u try to kill them like if u pinch them, that won't work! u have to drown them in water

....I would soak the dog in a warm (not hot) bath with a few drops of lavender and tea tree essential oil, then spritz its fur paying particular attention to under its leg areas and tail area with a home made lemon spray ( recipe below)

Cut a lemon into quaters and soak it in a jug of boiling water over night.

Next day pour the mixture into a spray bottle .

REMEMBER: you will need to completely and thoroughly clean all the surroundings ...bedding , towels carpets etc.

When you are done with that. Get some flea shampoo and get rid of them. The lemon was a great last meal, but they have no business in your house!The above could be done later to make the dog smell nice.

YES! Ammonia does kill bed bugs on contact. However, i am unsure if it kills their eggs. I recommend that you pre-wash any clothing bed spreads that may contain eggs or bed bugs in ammonia and following a regular wash.

YES! I've killed BB w/it, actually it doesn't need to be concentrated. I use 1/4 Rubbing Alcohol and fill the rest w/ water. But if u wanna go full strength it works like crazy. I attached a trigger from a spray bottle on the bottle of alcohol. I've used/use it to kill all types of bugs and it works! Even flies in mid flight!

Treat your pets with frountline or advantage,they seem to work the best. Spray your carpets and furniture with an aerosol that contains a IGR (insect growth regulator). This type of spray will kill the adult fleas and also prevent the flea larvae from developing. Any other sprays are a waste of money.
Go to your local veterinary clinic and ask for some flea killer for your animals. Or you could go to Lowes or Wal-mart and buy 7 dust and sprinkle outside your house. It's spelled Flea's by the way.

See if you can hire a professional steam cleaner - the superheated steam sterilize the carpet and therefore will kill the fleas, if the carpet is properly steamed all over. Note, if you have fleas in the carpet then there have been or are pets in the house, you need to wash the pet bedding regularly and make sure that you vacuum through the house at least twice a week (concentrating on where the pets are).

I have used Dawn dish soap....very carefully...on stray kitten I found who was infested with fleas. There is a lot of controversy about this...and it is very drying to the animals skins. There 'may' be store brands that are now okay for puppies and kittens, so you may want to try that first. If you use it on the puppy be very careful with his/her eyes.
