well in the wild most animals run through or roll in wild garlic and the flowers and folliage get crushed and unbelievable as it sound the fleas drop off. i guess the smell drives them away. warning! your dog etc. will stink of garlic for a while!

There is a spray solution for the household that you can purchase at a vetenarians office - just explain what you would like. It is not expensive and works great - you do have to spray every room because if you only spray one room and hope it works your just shifting the fleas from one room to another and not getting rid of them.

Try Capstar pills. They work great and in a short period of time. I just got a dog from an animal shelter and they informed me that my dog (like so many strays) was flea infested. They gave him Capstar and that solved the problem. Its the only product they use.

You really need some sort of "flux" to get the air off them and poison the bugs. Shampoo for fleas is great as it also has a poison for fleas, but if you don't have any and can't get any, a good human shampoo will do in a punch and usually works if you lather up the animal, rinse, lather and rinse.
