i am assuming that 12 is inches, meaning one square foot and the dimensions are in feet. Again, I am making these assumptions based on logic, I highly doubt your room is 13 inches by 14 inches or your tiles are 12 feet by 12 feet.

Assuming those variables, the dimensions of the room would be just the product of the length and width of the room. Thus, 182 square feet, if one tile takes up one square foot then it would take 182 to take up 182 square feet. Thus the answer is 182 tiles.

Add 5% extra for waste (could be 10% etc, ..depends on many factors).

It's no different on drywall than it is on any other surface. You spread the cement the same way, you apply the tile the same way.

Method products are good. Simple Green. Seventh Generation. Any of the natural cleaners should be fine.

one square foot is 144 sq inches, your tile is 4 square inches, therefore 144/4= 36 pieces per square foot, so 36x120=4,320 tiles

however, it will be less then that depending upon the size of your grout line and if the tile is truly 2x2. (some tile says its 4x4 for example, but if you measure it will be 3 and 5/8 or something so its important to physically measure the tile

One easy way would be to buy the small tiles on the mesh backing, like mosaic, they come in 1 sq ft pieces so you'd need 120. They are easy to install and your grout lines will be very consistant.

Warm, natural, grounding.

A large bottle of pure sugar cane syrup broke on the kitchen floor. I am not sure exactly the type of flooring, but it is a ruddy red color like brick but smoother tiling. I don't think it's terribly delicate.

My first mistake was mopping with soap. That seems to have spread the disastrous mess to new levels. I have also hand scrubbed with a degreaser and mopped again with water. It is still incredibly sticky, like to the point where if you walk on it with flip flops you will not make it very far.

Sticky or oily substances are difficult to clean up. You've already done, it but wipe up the worst of the mess with a dry paper towel. Then, I suggest a two-bucket method. Wipe the floor with a rag moistened with water from the first bucket, wipe the floor, rinse it out in the second bucket. Do a portion of the floor, empty both buckets, start again. There is just no easy way to get the last of it up and this may require repeated efforts. If you have a floor cleaner, use tepid water rather than hot.

The tile itself costs between 2-20 $/square foot. The installation is 5-10 $/square foot depending on layout and any custom design work. Also labor for removal of old floor and upgrading sub-floor to plywood instead of chipboard is extra, and there is some cost in the grout, sealer, don't forget your baseboards etc. Tile will also be ordered with an additional 10-20% for waste. So you can get a pretty good idea by getting your square footage, multiply that by 1.10, multiply that by 17 $/ square foot ( 7 for tile, 6 for install, 2 for backerboard, 2 for grout, morter/thinset, sealer etc) then add for removal of old floor (totally varies on old floor material and condition. The advantage of a flooring staple gun is that carpet layers can staple the carpet to the wood underneath, ordinary staplers cannot do this since they are to weak to go through both the carpet and the wood.

It depends on whether the tile is glazed or unglazed and what you are trying to clean off. If you are trying to clean a liquid that had seeped into the tile you may be out of luck. It may be permanently stained. If you are trying to do routine maintenance you can use a mop and warm water with a mild tile cleaner.

Here in Oregon we get $6.50- 7.00 a sf for broomfinished concrete driveways/ patios. 4-5'' thick, #3 rebar 2' on center each way. Straight joints and flat. Excavation of old and all labor and materials for the new. Also includes a 4'' compacted rock base. Typical driveway is 20' x 30' approx. Pump is extra if needed
