How many 12x12 tiles need for 15 by 15 room?
Whom ever wrote this problem, did not give the unit of measurement (yards, feet, meters, etc.) so, I am going to presume that the 12 by 12 tile is in inches, and the 15 by 15 is in feet.
If my presumption was correct the answer is 15 tiles. Because a 12 by 12 tile is = to 1 square foot. How many 1's fit into 15? 15!
Well, not exactly.....
You need to multiply 15 X 15 to get the square footage and that will give you
the number of tiles needed since the tiles are 1 ft square. 15 x 15= 225. So you
need 225 tiles. And add extra tiles for breakage...
No one removes their cabinets to lay new tile. If your stove isn't built-in it can be moved and tile laid under it. If it is built-in you would buy a new stove the same size as the old one. Most stoves & dishwashers only come in a few standard sizes so it wouldn't be a problem to find one that fiits.

Can you install travertine tiles over plywood sub floor?
It depends on how thick the subfloor is. Travertine, marble, etc, are *heavy* and most modern buildings are inadequate - one sheet of ply over joists is not going to prevent the floor from bouncing as you walk over it. The more the floor moves - especially if we're talking a new house that hasn't settled yet - the more the tiles shift. This leads to grout cracking and, in the worst cases, tiles working loose or breaking when you step on them.
Check the thickness of the subfloor 'in toto' - you want at least a 1-1/2" depth to carry a load of heavy stone tile. If you need to, add plywood or (better yet) cement board (doesn't swell or shrink according to humidity) to make up the difference.
How do you save your wood floors that have linoleum glue on them?
It depends on several factors not listed. Im going to assume you have wood floors with vinyl that was installed over the top of the wood? And im going to assume that you removed the vinyl and found wood floors but have vinyl glue spread all over.
Ok.. here are my thoughts and possible solutions.
First off is this is going to take alot of work most likely. So be prepared.
2nd, there are several factors you need to know. Is the wood a solid hardwood floor? Or is it an engineered wood floor. That is is the wood built like plywood.
If its a solid wood floor, i would try using a sponge to damping the glue residue with hot water. Remember all wood floors are extremely sensitive to moisture. And possible water damage may occur. However most vinyl glues are water based and can be released with hot water. I would use a stiff bristle plastic scrub brush.
If this doesnt work, you will need to sand and refinish the wood floors. which would make them look brand new again.
If you have an engineered floor, the scrubbing may work, however not all engineered floors can be sanded as the top ply of wood can be less than 1/8th thick and a sander could sand too much and destroy the wood.
Remember that if you try the water that you want the glue damp, not wet. you do not want the wood to soak up water.

What is the cost to carpet a room 12 x 16 feet at 1.23 per square foot?
12ft X 16ft = 192 sq ft X $1.23 = $236.16
The wall, 4 ft x7 ft, is 28 ft2. Each tile, .5 ft x .5 ft, is .25 ft2. 28ft2 divided by .25 ft2 = 112. However, that doesn't account for the grouted spaces between the tiles which, depending upon the width of the spaces, would somewhat reduce the number of tiles required.
How do you remove black scuff marks from tile floor?
We have cheap (but sturdy, nice) tile floors - thanks to our former landlord... I tried some of the crazy crap, offered as "magic" solutions. Miracle Whip, for instance. I got nothing but a scuffed floor with salad dressing smeared all over it. SO glad I was home, alone... LOL Anyway... So - blushing and hurried, I wiped it up. Then I got a bright idea. I grabbed a pencil I didn't care about, turned it around - and used the eraser, right on the floor. Voila! Talk about magic. Those scuff marks came right up.
If the eraser gets a little slick, wipe it on your jeans or press a little firmer, as you rub back and forth. Hey, I thought while I was at it - I'd try it on a mild surface sciff (scratch)...worked for that, too. Don't worry, if the eraser seems to leave something behind. Your mop, or a little spit n'shine, will take care of that.
Got a big floor, with alot of scuff marks? Try a tennis ball on the end of your mop. Still a bit of work I guess...but wouldn't it be, anyways? At least you won't be on your knees, doing it. Good luck!
How many 16 X 16 stones do you need to cover 120 square feet?
68 but if you didn't include overage then get 75
Ok I am a designer so here is the basic formula to find out exactly how much of any form of flooring you should order except carpet. you take your 120 sqft and add 10% to that amount which should be 12 sqft. making your total 132. now you need to take that total and divide it by the number of sqft per box that the stone tile is sold in to figure out how many boxes you need to buy (reason for this is no one in their right mind will sell it to you per tile) lets say it comes 12.31 sqft per box. 132/12.31 = 10.72 now round this number up to 11 boxes (it is ok to round down if it is lower example- 10.12 can become 10 boxes) so if you want to know the square footage you take your eleven boxes multiplied by 12.31 and you get 135.41........Your squarre footage will always vary slightly depending on how many square feet there are per box. and on a further not I would add 15% to a squarefootage under 100 sqft
