How many 18 inch by 18 inch tiles will you need to cover 264 square feet?

Hmm, my answer does not agree with others listed below here, however here is what I got and how...

you would need 117.3 tiles plus a recommended 10% for breakage or a total of 129 tiles.

This is how I come by that answer.

18 by 18 is 324 square Inches (Sqin)

264 Square Feet = 38016 Sqin.

38016 sqin divided by 324 sqin tiles equals 117.33 tiles.

my younger brother (former contractor) insists that tile tends to break and a 10% margin of error should be planned for. thus 118 (round to next whole tile) times 110% equals 129 pieces of tile 18x18.

Hope this helps.

How many 12x12 tile do you need for a 20ft x 12 ft room?

We don't see the units on the 12x12 tile, but we have to assume it's inches.

So each tile = 1 square foot.

The room measures 20-ft x 12-ft = 240 square feet.

So it takes 240 tiles to cover the ceiling, and another 240 to cover the floor.

In order to calculate how many tiles it takes to cover the walls, we need to know

the height of the ceiling above the floor.

How do you get the glue from the laminate floor off?

Goof Off will remove almost any glue, including super glue types from laminate and hardwood flooring. Just rub with a rag and a few drops of Goof Off and the glue soon softens and can be peeled off. This has not harmed 3 different types of flooring that I've tested it on.

How many 20x20 inch tiles does it take to cover 550 square feet?

550 sq feet = 550*12*12 = 79200 sq inches.

20"x20" = 400 sq inches.

So number of tiles required = 79200/400 = 198

That is the mathematical answer. It assumes that the 550 square feet shape is such that every offcut can be reused (not so easy if it is 550 sq feet in a circular shape!), that you cut every tile perfectly, there are no breakages, etc. In real life, depending on your level of skill, get at least 5% more tiles.

How do you get the answer to how many sheets of plywood are needed to completely cover a rectangle shaped floor measuring 16 feet by 12 feet?

Multiply the width by the length, for area. So, 16x12=192

Answer:

American measured plywood comes in 4x8 sheets. The floor would be 2 sheets long (2x8=16) and 3 sheets wide (4x3=12) so you would need 3x2=6 sheets.

How much do flooring installers make?

Work in a big box store and you will get about 9-12 bucks an hour. You will also spend all your time building end caps, dusting, down stocking, and loading people's cars with everything but flooring. If you actually know anything about flooring, you'll be a stand out as most of the kids around you will be texting on their phones all the time. There are no commissions either.

Can laminate flooring be installed over a rug?

To avoid bending of the laminate flooring, it must be installed over a hard, smooth surface. Take up the carpeting and padding, ensuring to remove all staples. Subflooring nails and screws should be made flush with the floor. Use a scraper to scrape up any glue and staples from carpet padding. Sweep the floor thoroughly. Failure to properly prep the space will result in a laminate that will very soon be irreparably damaged.
