Culture affects management by affecting the values and beliefs that managers hold towards their job, coworkers and employees, and the organization. For example, in western management, business values focus mostly on transactions, or selling something to a customer. For these values, managers mostly need strategic management competencies, in order to complete more and larger transactions. However, in Asian management systems, there is more focus placed on building social capital. For example, in Korea, the government makes most of the decisions about businesses, so managers need to build strong relationships with government officials over time in order to influence major decisions that will be made in the future about their company. In addition, most if not all Korean business decisions and partnerships are made by using connections or who-knows-who. So for managers in Asia, strategic management competencies and social capital competencies are equally important, because no business can get done without them.

Culture also affects the way managers manage human resources. For example, in Korea, there is a strong, centralized, hierarchical structure to every company. Koreans strongly believe in the Confucian values of authoritarianism, paternalism, masculinity, and high power distance. So, for example, when giving assignments, managers will be deliberately vague about details, because if they are too direct and explain in too much detail it is seen to belittle the employee. Conversely, employees will never ask questions if they don't understand how to do something, because questioning a senior is not allowed in their society. They will also never contradict a manager's decision, because they can cause him to lose face, and their job will then be in jeopardy. This causes a lot of miscommunication problems, as you can see.

Culture also affects management by being an intrinsic part of the way an employee views their job and their longevity at their job. In western countries, managers and higher business officials typically work for many companies throughout their career, honing their skills in different ways, and sometimes even starting their own companies towards the end of their careers. In Korea, if a manager tries to change countries, it is considered a betrayal, or a traitorous act and they will be ostracized from all of their friends, and possibly family if they got the job through family connections. Recently, this has begun to change as recessions and competition for higher level jobs have made Koreans more likely to change companies, and it has caused a lot of problems for Korean companies and Korean society because it is increasing mistrust between companies and individuals about how much the company should invest in the individual, and how much the individual should invest in the company.

*Note, this answer is all about Korea and east vs west because this is the topic of my PhD and it was easy for me to write quickly. If you are talking about other cultures, there will be other differences.

I learned two different versions of it, one is not so nice, the other is better. Here they are:

La cucaracha, la cucaracha,

Ya no puede caminar.

Porque no tiene, porque le falta,

La marijuana que fumar.

And the nicer one:

La cucaracha, la cucaracha,

Ya no puede caminar,

Porque no tiene, porque le faltan

Las dos patitas de atrás.

The first one says he can't walk because he has no marijuana (as if that makes any sense!) and the second one says he can't walk because he doesn't have two back feet. LOL

There are hundreds of verses to this traditional Mexican Folk song. The use of Marijuana in the quoted stanza is referring to its pain-killing and... what's the word? "forgetting" properties. In other words, the soldier is weary and footsore, but smoking marijuana makes his (or in some versions, her) feet stop hurting and makes them forget their troubles--they can keep right on marching (or dancing or whatever).

The second quote is a kid's version, where "La Cucaracha" is just a cockroach, no metaphor involved.

According to the Portland Handel Society, Handel's religion is a common source of interest. Though by all accounts he was a very devout Christian who believed strongly in charity, his particular denomination remains a mystery, if he followed one at all. Some characterize him as a humanist, very tolerant and accepting of all faiths. If this is the case, it fits well with his art. It must be observed that most of his music was for the theater instead of the church, and that human drama and the experience of this world were what captured his interest.

Tejano Music was coined (first said or established) in the early 1980's. It was a product of the combination of La Onda Chicana and Conjunto Music. To understand the roots of Tejano Music you must understand that at one time it was two distinctive music groups. La Onda Chicana's past goes back to Chicano music and even further before all the way back to Beto Villas Orquestra and even further back. On the Conjunto end it can be traced back as far as Conjunto Bernal and further. Currently the origins of Tejano Music are still argued and do not have a set form of definitions. There are a few pioneers of Tejano music still alive and around for information. You might want to try locating Marcelo Tafoya he was the first lifetime achievement award winner at the Tejano Music Awards (TTMA) and was the first DJ to play Tejano Music on the air fulltime. Tejano became big in the 90's when the "Queen Of Tejano" music Selena, burst onto the scene. After her death on March 31st 1995 the world was shock but as her music carried on by making her first English album that was released pothumously, she became one of the fastest selling females in the world, the first hispanic singer to go number 1 on the Billboard Pop Chart, one of the most succesfull latin artists in the world, and has appeared in the Guinness Book Of World Records 1999 as "Most Dominating Artist".

Let"s look at the French language, Chanter is the VerbTo sing. a Chanteuse is a female singer, usually in a popular style like the Late, Great Edith Piaf, Une Cantatrice is a classical or Opera singer, female. (There is no male equivalent) rather Like(Diva) a Chanteuse song would simply mean a song by a female singer. Chanteuse (Woman who sings) is not a style of Music and should not be confused with talky-semi lyric(Chants)-thogh Chanter and chant have a common origin. There was a group called the Chanters and this was pronounced in the English, not French style Not(Shawntays!). There You Go. Love, this is my Song was orignally written in French and I suppose if you must have this ungrammatical term, a (Chanteuse) song. By the way is about, as you may have guessed Anastasia.
