Everlong is a love song. It is reflective of loving someone and holding onto them wih everything you have. (Refer especially to the chorus.) Apparently it's about Louise Post (Veruca Salt) and Dave's relationship. It's also rumored that 'Doll' is about her too.

He is called Dave Grohl and he used to play the drums for Grunge band Nirvana but Kurt Cobain (lead singer of Nirvana) died so Dave decided to form a band in memory of Kurt.
