Where can you find the plug to add oil for the transmission in a 1992 Ford Laser?
Most early model pre 1996 you have to remove the speedo drive cable by undoing the 10 mm screw metal cable retainer. When you have undone the 10 mil screw leave the Speedo cable attached and pull it up. The nylon speedo gear will easily pull out, and you can fill the oil in the hole. It takes 2.7/ 3.5 litres of oil depending on the type of motor. Check the correct level by pushing speedo gear into place, and remove it. The gear should have oil about half way up the gear if correctl level is attained...
The best way to add it is to get a funnel, attach a 1 meter clear plastic hose, fill it from the top using the container to work out how much was filled start at around 2.7 liters, if it ain't enough top it up to 3.5 litres.

Ford Laser's Owners Manual lists it to be 1-3-4-2. I've checked my 82 Ford Laser
The dissy goes in only one way. There should be a '1' on the cap. The rest of the leads go anti-clockwise.
Where is the fuel filter located on a 2001 Ford Laser 1.6L?
The fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank. You have to remove the rear seat which is easily done. Remove the fuel and return lines which connect to the top of the sender unit. Undo the screws on the sender unit cover plate. (The fuel filter is connected to the base of the fuel pump which is in turn connected to the base of the sender unit). The Filter is fixed to the pump with a small metal retaining ring. The filter is a mesh type about 5 inches long. It is a pain to have to replace, mainly due to the restricted movement when disconnecting the fuel and return line.
The mesh filter costs around $65 Aust and will take around 30 minutes to change. I have had to change my filter 4 times due to the common problem of them clogging. It is easily achievable with a screwdriver, good long nose pliers and a cold beer.
