How long is a standard informed consent valid for in foster care or residential treatment?
I'm looking for the same information. From what I've seen online it's valid until the patient revokes it or the condition changes such that the scope of procedures or risks changes.
No definitive answered found yet but I saw this pop up a few times for informed consents in general.
Why is foster care so important?
Foster care enables the state to remove children from poor living conditions. Most children in foster care are victims of physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, etc. Placing a child in foster care gives the child a safe place to go until the parents either get the help they need to get their kids back or until the parents rights can be terminated and the kids adopted.
Who is Shalena Rochelles fosters parents?
This is private information and if you a parent of hers you need to follow the proper channels and ask the social worker handling the case.
How can a 17 year old leave foster care in NY?
get emancipated..you have to get a job and show you can support yourself and have a place to live
There are sometimes babies that ends up in foster care when something has happened to the parents, the baby is addicted or ill or it's waiting for adoption. I think they prefer giving them to well known foster families though, that is experienced and used to not getting too attached and give the children back when it's time. Babies are easy to feel like you own. At least that is how they do here.
What do people think about adopted or foster kids?
This question doesn't make much sense, as people have different opinions. I think it's sad that there are kids out there with no mum or dad.
because they are willing to take care of you and they love you
How can you put your child in foster care will you have to pay?
Only a judge decides if there are reasons enough to put your child in foster care. Talk to a social worker. Foster care is not a miracle solution, it's just another family helping out if the child has serious problems or if the parent is unfit to take care of them. This is not a solution if your child is just unruly and you are tired of dealing with it. If you want to give your child up for a less serious reason the judge might find that you should not get him back. But the state will not charge you for taking your child. They will probably make you take parenting classes, and until you get the child back or they terminate your parental rights you could have to pay child support which is determined by your pay.
What can they do if i no longer want to be in foster care anymore i am eighteen?
You are an adult and can leave whenever you want. I suggest you have a good plan though. it's a tough world.
Where do foster children stay when not adopted?
If none of these options are viable the plan for the minor may enter OPPLA (Other Planned Permanent Living Arrangement). This option allows the child to stay in custody of the state and the child can stay placed in a foster home, with a relative or an Independent Living Center or long term care facility (for children with development disabilities, physical disabilities or mental disabilities).
How long is the process of adopting a foster child if you're already fostering them?
There are variables. If the birth parents' rights have been terminated a foster child should only remain in the system for 15 months now. Terminating parental rights is the key. That process can take years if they do not voluntarily give up their rights, and/or they make infrequent attempts to regain custody. My experience has been it took 8yrs to adopt my daughter. She is now 24, and over 4 yrs. to get PLC of my 9 yr old son. Sometimes you have to fight for what you know is best for the child. However, foster parents have unknown rights too. It is more difficult to remove a child from you once in your care for more than 6 months. My advice, if you have any biological parent or DHS/Agency issues, document everything. Child's reactions, behavior, everyone's inconsistencies, and proof the child is thriving in your care. Attend every court hearing and be prepared with your documents. They will see you are doing all that is possible for the best interest of the child. Good Luck!
Foster care do you get help to pay for medical bills for the foster child?
This may vary from state to state, but in Florida all children are covered under Medicaid.
Do children in foster care receive child support from parents?
The foster parents receive a set sum for each child from the state and the parents pay the state. Since it would be a very different sum for each child based on what parents can pay, the sum is set for each child and every state have this system. The foster parents should not have to use their money. if that was the case we would have very few foster families because they would not afford it.
How long does it take to receive foster parent stipend?
This really varies a lot from state to state.
Some states pay monthly, and in those cases you should get your stipend when the next month cycle happens; occasionally there will be a lag and you'll wait 6-8 weeks or so because they didn't get the paperwork done in time for you to get the next month's check, and you'll wind up waiting for the following month. In an ideal situation, you should get the check right after the next month starts.
Don't be afraid to talk to the social worker about it if it's been a while and you haven't seen a check. People are often really cautious about asking, but the workers generally understand that people often need the money to properly care for the children.
What are children's care homes like?
they live there.
it's not like the 'dog pound' where if they're there for too long that they get put down but they just lived there and maybe get fostered (a short-term adoption thing) or adopted (a long-term fostering thing).
if that didn't help, try wiki or see Tracy Beaker (Returns) (the Story of...) on BBC iplayer.

Can you have foster children and adopt from China?
Yes. As long as your home has room for foster children and they would be comfortable, then there isn't a problem with it. Just be sure you contact the social worker to let them know. ADOPTIONS are based on your ability to foster and your means; (room enough in your house, financial ability ect...) not so much on whether you already have foster children or any other children for that matter. As long as you meet the standards for adopting a child from China, I don't think you should have any problems. GOOD LUCK! ADR
Is Abbey Kelly foster a school that takes care of there kids?
no this school is not a good school they hit children
The parents do not decide what home the child goes to since in order for a child to go into foster care they have given up their parental rights (or they have been taken from them). It's the social workers job to evaluate the foster care homes to find one that suits the child. Finally the court decide but they usually follow what the social workers recommend.
US child care relied mostly on "homes" and institutions up through the 1980s. Around the 1960s-70s, state run group homes and institutions closed and children went into foster care placements, if available.
