Fullmetal Alchemist

Alchemists study and practice Alchemy which is considered a protoscience. While Alchemists are real people with a real purpose, the field they practice has not been proven real, as yet, by scientific protocol.

Using a loose definition, you could call chemists modern alchemists. But there were real alchemists who's main goal was to change one substance into another, usually this a cheap metal, like lead, into gold. Though the methods were primitive, the concepts are considered important work towards modern chemistry.

No. Neither in Brotherhood or the original anime series do they kiss. Though they do have some romantic moments together. There are rumors that in one chapter of the manga that they kiss somewhere in the early 100s.

i don't think there was a chapter like that, though it's been a while since i read it. ed did however dye his hair brown at some point in the original full metal achemist anime(i think). i'm not sure if it also happened in brotherhood.

It's basically a side story that doesn't actually happen throughout the main story line, ed and al go to a mansion to talk to an alchemist who knew something about the philospher's stone, and (I don't want to give it away) but it's a sad ending.

I'd say that the series will continue by December since it was on hiatus from august and Adult swim announced that they would broadcast the first 26 episodes but the problem is that the schedules are being changed again there's a whole lot of mess this time. I'd say by the fourth will continue episode 27.

They have a bond, not a relationship. + Considering that FMA is based off Industrial-Revolution-era Europe, I doubt the government would allow that anyways - Roy is Ed's commanding officer, he's twice Ed's age, and the age of consent might be higher than 15. Not to mention that there's bound to be bias against gays...

Truthfully, the answer depends on the series.

In Fullmetal Alchemist (the anime), Envy is a male. Envy was born from the failed human transmutation performed by Hohenheim after his son died. Like the other Homunculi in the series, their gender prior to the transmutation carries over.

As for Fullmetal Alchemist (manga) and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Envy has no gender. The Homunculi in these series are born from the sins of Father, which do not have gender.

Yes, Alphonse Elric is indeed right-handed. In the episodes with flashbacks to Ed and Al's training on Yock island, Al is seen using a hunting knife and fishing spear in his right hand. Then, even after Al has lost his body, he is seen writing with his right hand (Episode 7 Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - so this is also true in the manga - and episode 18 of the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist series). I'm sure there are also more instances where he writes, but there ya go!

You've probably already found out by now, but just in case you haven't: The baby is her own. The father is unknown, but it is heavily implied that she was raped while in military custody. The rape, along with other things, is probably the reason why she is temporarily mute for a portion of the series.

Edward never formally proposes to Winry. However, in the last episode of the anime (chapter 108 of the manga), Edward says (using the alchemic terms that he's known for) that he'll give Winry half of his life if she gives Edward have of hers, to which Winry responds that she'll give Edward all of her life. We later see the two married and with a child.

After losing their mother, Alphonse and Edward Elric attempt to bring her back using the forbidden science of human alchemy. However, alchemy operates on the theory of equivalent trade, and breaking the human alchemy taboo carries a heavy price. Ed loses his leg, and Al loses his body. Ed is able to seal Al's soul inside of a huge suit of armor, at the cost of his arm. Years later, Ed (now with two mechanical limbs) and Al (still trapped in the armor) leave their childhood home, each brother concerned with the other's happiness. Ed, who has a natural talent and skill for alchemy, becomes nationally certified and is soon known everywhere as the "Fullmetal Alchemist." Their true objective is to search for any information on the fabled Philosopher's Stone, hoping it will allow them to regain their old bodies. All of their hopes rest with this mythical stone, which may not even exist at all. However, the brothers soon learn that they are not the only ones after the powerful stone.
