If you mean the tanks as well, ideally you should get a tank at least 10 gallons, but if you are new to fish keeping, you can get starter tanks from places like pets at home for about £20, which are quite big and have a filter with it. Make sure you get an air pump as well though, alternatively, you can just drop a few oxygenating tablets in every few days

It would be good to have sand instead of stones as the fish llike to dig around in the sand and they like to eat all the little backteria things in it and spit it back out again.

They also like bits of Driftwood or wood that you can buy at pet stores. They like little objects to swim around and hide in so a fish bowl isn't a good idea unless you have a rather large one to fit bigger things in.

In my fish tank I put live plants in - but after about a month the fish had nibbled of a leaf as they sometimes consider live plants as food. You can also put fake plants in which are probably more recommended as you can get a wider range of colour and they are also slightly cheaper (I think!).

These are the basics of a fish tank, and you can also put rocks in there too to make it look smore natural. (If you go into a pet shop, they normally have little ornaments in there too. These are nice for little children.)

This is a debated topic. There are both pros and cons. Though oxygen is very important, too much can be deadly for a fish. The finer the bubbles the more likely your fish may get air bloat. Also adding an air stone increases the CO2 gas exchange process increasing the pH in the water. Marine fish like basic water. Also in a reef tank too much oxygen can kill coral. Normally filter systems creates enough oxygenation for a tank to where an air stone is not needed. If you want air bubble for a decorative effect try to get something tha doesn't create a fine bubbles.
